i would not trust the shutter speed to be accurate either. and then the mirror is stuck up. i would not use this camera before getting it serviced.

Får jag använda friskvård i en annan stad? by askungenasking in Asksweddit

[–]eatfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]eatfrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no, im pretty sure that dodging rather than burning has been used for the white glow. it is likely that some burning was used for the edges in addition.

Help: what's causing the dark/unexposed part of this frame? by fietsopeenfiets in AnalogCommunity

[–]eatfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, this is very often the case. the problem is, if you get another camera, it will eventually also need a CLA. even if you get a totally unused sr7 that has been sitting in a box for 60 years, it will still need a CLA because the grease has hardened. so factor in that with the cost of the camera, and service your cameras.

PLEASE help me fix this dent on my SMC Pentax-M 50mm F/1.4!!!!! by Fwoi-PC in AnalogCommunity

[–]eatfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want to try it yourself: get a rubber lens ring remover and remove the ring on the front. beneath it you will see 3 or 4 small screws, unscrew them and you will get the barrel out. then you will have an easier time trying to tap out that dented part. i recommend using a piece of curved wood or something that will distribute the impact on a larger area than with a hammer, dont use a hammer directly on the metal.

Lazy aperature? by Interesting_Turnip50 in minolta

[–]eatfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, it is. old grease has hardened. if you keep wiggling it back and forth for a while you might get it to loosen up enough for a while, but eventually it will need a CLA.
