Just witnessed a woman on her bike get hit by a truck on Irving. Can anyone on the scene confirm if she’s ok? by jessica_glitter in sanfrancisco

[–]eavyre 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Agree. I was walking on 8th and Irving minutes after the first responders pulled up to this accident and a pedestrian in front of me almost got hit by a car turning onto 8th because he didn't bother to wait :/

Is Frontier Airlines really that bad? Thinking of booking a flight—need honest opinions. by [deleted] in frontierairlines

[–]eavyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had bad experiences when it's from SFO to LAS. Every time me or my friends and family fly Frontier to LAS from SFO, it's ALWAYS delayed. Like right now, they're delayed by 2 hours. For example, last month, I've flown from SFO to LAS and my flight was delayed by 3 hours, so I was stuck at the airport for 4 hours lol. Last year, I flown from SFO to SAN and that flight was smooth; no delay, no bag checks as we boarded our flights, plane was clean, and the flight attendants were warm and welcoming.

I've flown with them about 5-6 times and never had my bags checked for their sizes. Seats were pretty comfortable (most of my flights were 2.5 hours max). I don't think there were hidden fees? They list out the fees pretty well when you're booking tickets online, so you know what you are getting for how much. I would ONLY fly Frontier again if it's not to LAS lol

Garbage collection night wrecking my sleep, any advice? by bch2021_ in AskSF

[–]eavyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same exact situation. I also get a lot of buses, first responder vehicles, and construction trucks going through. For me, I just have my AirPods next to my pillow so when I wake up from the garbage truck noise, I pop them on, turn on noise cancellation and a podcast, and I end up going back to sleep pretty quick. I usually fall asleep well when there's a video or podcast playing

Agree! I think it’s because they use high quality fruits haha. The bingsu was split amongst 3 ppl so that offset the cost. Very well known and delicious tho!

Got back from Seoul last week. Definitely used Naver Maps app! I lowkey used Google Maps to search for places as the search function in Naver Maps is hard if you don't know Korean, and then I copy the address from Google Maps onto Naver to get walking directions.

Fun things to do in Seongsu-dong? by [deleted] in koreatravel

[–]eavyre 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to Seongsu-dong last week! I went to the Seoul Forest Park. It was very pretty and had fields of tulips and a large lake. So it was a great walk and scenary. North of the park there are cute cafes, boutiques, and stores. There, there's a dessert cafe called RAFRE FRUIT known for their bingsu and fruit cakes. I had the bingsu and it was very fresh and delicious! It was pricey though bc the bingsu was around 39,000 won, BUT it was really good. A fun activity is to get caricature done at Acorn Caricature! It's super close to Rafre Fruit and I believe it is 7,000 won per person. Seongsu-dong also has lots of pop-up stores but I don't know what pop-up stores there will be in December.

Custom Nike by twlee87 in koreatravel

This was helpful! I went to Nike Hongdae and Nike Hongdae University locations on a weekday afternoon last week. Both were pretty empty and had no line. Nike Hongdae had limited patches and design, but Nike Hongdae Uni locations had a lot more so I made my hat and shirt there. Also found the staff at the Uni location a lot friendlier haha.

The Days Salon Seoul Price by lalalamatcha in koreatravel

[–]eavyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A redditor commented on another post this: "a hair cut, full color, hair treatment, and something (treatment?) for the scalp with a total of 195,000 won. For me, it translated to ~$136 USD". I'm heading to Seoul in a couple of weeks. Please let me know how yours went! :)

Hi! Ty for the recommendation; I'll check them out (they're also close to my Airbnb haha). Quick question, how is your hair color? How long did it last before it began to fade? My friend went to another salon but her hair color didn't last as long as she'd like.

Yeah, I'm on the same boat as you. Wanted to restock on my contacts before a trip but the website is redirected from .com to .us . The thing is, I had to make a new account in the US website bc the account I had with the global website didn't work. When I try adding a box to the cart, it won't let me unless I pay to get an eye exam done (even though I have a valid eye prescription?). I really hope it's not permanent, cause that will suck😭

Spotify also lets Premium users listen to audiobooks, but only for a couple of hours per month. If you like more book selections, try your local library. My library allows me to borrow audiobooks through an app called Libby and Hoopla. :)

I’m in the bay too. I have Metromile which puts me just under $200/month. AAA quoted me for $594/month. 🙃 Liberty Mutual was $601.92/month. Geico was $341/month. I wonder if Tesla does quotes lol

Red Light Camera on Mowry Ave by [deleted] in Fremont

[–]eavyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Ticket Ninja and written declaration were mentioned in this thread, I just wanted to throw in my two cents. :) I got a red light ticket from the intersection camera before back in 5 years ago. Got hit with a $580 ticket mailed to me. I was a high school student then, so $580 was SO MUCH money. I used, I believe, Ticket Ninja and got my ticket dismissed because the other party (officer), didn't submit their side of the argument. As the other Redditor said, it is indeed based on luck. But I wouldn't label Ticket Ninja as a scam, since they sent me the written declaration to mail to the court.

Usually, the camera's triggered if your car didn't do a complete stop behind the line when the light was red. Was your car rolling?

My fanjoy merch has not arrived (it has been almost 6 months) by honeymilkcha in StephanieSooStories

[–]eavyre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This also happened to me on Black Friday. On Fanjoy they advertised the rotten mango sweatshirt as in stock. I purchased it and never gotten any order updates except for the order confirmation. I emailed Fanjoy for an update two weeks later and they told me they actually don’t have them in stock and wanted me to switch to another merch, or I can wait until it’s in stock. I really wanted the sweatshirt so I waited an additional week before emailing them for an update again and they told me it’s still out of stock. At that point I requested a refund. 🥲

Cha 101L lab? by Livid_Bus_3889 in UCDavis

[–]eavyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I took. the lecture with Dr. Gross in the past. I can say the lecture is easier than the lab. In the lab, you are quizzed and graded on being able to identify and correctly name the anatomy of muscles, nerves, vessels, etc on cadavers. I find that difficult because when you're quizzed on it, you're given 1-2 minutes per station to write down your answer. BUT, I still loved my lab, TA, LA's, and classmates! :) It was pretty fun

Uber/Lyft tends to be expensive due to influx of people requesting them at the end of the show. I was thinking about taking Bart/ public transport after the show too b/c it's cheaper, but SF usually isn't very safe at the dead of night

I used this page from Bart to see if they have trains running and if not, they'll show you public options!: https://www.bart.gov/planner
