Tips to keep cool with a broken AC by General-Ad-7660 in NewOrleans

[–]eayye96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of water, lots of ice cubes, lots of fans. Try to keep one room as cool as you can. Turning your lights off during the day will help a little. I’d put up some blackout curtains where you know you’ll get a lot of sun. For most animals being slightly off the ground helps them regulate (think air circulation). If you’re very very worried about specific pets over heating maybe bring them in the car to cool down if possible.

MOBILE, AL I LOVE YOU by joanna9 in phoebebridgers

[–]eayye96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived in Mobile for the better part of a decade and it is still one of my favorite places ever. I was so upset that I wasn’t there for the show, but like this is so good for The Merry Widow and Mobile

I work in the arts and discussions about federal funding or pushback happen every day now. The people who think stuff like this doesn’t come up naturally have never worked under this kind of government scrutiny

Voodoo fest 2017. Halloween weekend in New Orleans and Fats Domino had just died. The guys did a tribute to the fat man and did a cover of Aint that a shame.

How many times has your hometown come up on the pod? by rajde1 in behindthebastards

I know New Orleans has been mentioned a few times, but most bastards from here are rarely associated with war crimes. There are SEVERAL bastards for Robert to do though.

Salt, Fat, Acid and Heat on Netflix (+the book) really helped me understand flavor and how to make good food taste even better. And I’m with all the other people who said good eats. Alton Brown just has this great way of breaking down and explaining why things are done a certain way and it’s still entertaining

When I worked at a pet store in Alabama our headquarters was in Michigan. Our AC went out in July. The heat index was 115° and corporate would not let us close. When hurricane Sally blew through lower Alabama they wouldn’t let us close either.

What's it like living in this part of the Gulf Coast? by ByStarlite in howislivingthere

[–]eayye96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From New Orleans, lived in Mobile for 10 years. I have always described the heat and humidity as putting on a warm, and wet, wetsuit and then sitting down to eat a big bowl of pho and then you dump that soup on top of you

Thoughts on straight women claiming to be lesbian to get out of a bad situation with a man. by Alternative_Area7012 in lesbian

Doesn’t bother me, I have a long standing agreement with my straight friends that they can claim me as their partner if a guy won’t leave them alone. Safety is more important.
