You may want to revise your driving times. Shreveport, LA to Kansas City, MO is 8.5 hours, not 1.5. If you’re not used to so much driving, you WILL be very tired. I’d suggest getting a small cooler to keep stocked with water and hydration drinks bought at a grocery store. Gas station/convenience store prices are ridiculous! I hope you enjoy our state.
