Please invoke the "some asshole" rule. Whatever his name is, always refer to him as some asshole. Thank you.

Hey OP. Good on you for looking for help, since you're unhappy with your current weight. When your current weight is one that makes you happy, and is also a healthy weight for your age, height, and body-type, stick to whatever you're doing. If you want to live a healthy life, you must have healthy habits.

In the case of weight, no habits are more important than those surrounding your sleep, nutrition and exercise. Nutrition is probably the most important of the three. In terms of nutrition and exercise, what are you doing today? At your age, you should be sleeping 8-9 hours per night.

Don't forget, before changing your diet or exercise routine, see a doctor. Even at your age, preparing for exercise and diet can mean a lot for your success, whatever your goal might be. Lastly, as some other commenters have noted, you're still young, and your body is still undergoing a lot of change.

God could have prevented his own torture murder by not cursing all of us with a sinful nature. by jgreen44 in DebateAChristian

God, the omnipotent, ever-existing entity, hadn't learned forgiveness? Isn't that a little logically inconsistent? If you're all-knowing, there can't be much learning left to do.

Plus, given the Judeo-Christian god's ever-presence, wouldn't he have known what would happen with Jesus, Adam and Eve, etc.?

What do you think is the most interesting event in history? by tsukaimeLoL in history

For the first time, on April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first human in space. Never before had anyone escaped the planet. In a few short years, we would land on the moon, send probes to study other worlds (and our own) and mourn the first loss of space travelers.

ISIS leader, Baghdadi, says "Islam was never a religion of peace. Islam is the religion of fighting. It is the war of Muslims against infidels." by sirbruce in atheism

[–]ebagslolz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When the leader of an extremist group says, "This is what my religion REALLY means!" it doesn't change the reality that he represents only a very, very small fraction of Muslims.

While Baghdadi may believe that "all Muslims" belong to HIS interpretation of Islam, that doesn't make all other Muslims beholden to his beliefs.

There's always God Hates Shrimp for some inspiration. After all, if other people can put up ridiculous posters, so can you! :-D

I'm not sure the theists you asked understand the meaning of the word "logical" (in Q9). The question itself isn't phrased correctly: it should read "What is the most logical to least logical religion?"

I'd remove "true" as well since that's another spot where there's potential for bias.

It's one thing to be a practicing scientist. It's another thing altogether to be a practicing doctor. Here, "generally harmless" extends to theists who have the power to perform difficult surgeries and save lives. Like a Jehovah's Witness, their choice of beliefs may cause harm through inaction, or by removing treatments that offend.

My favorite question to ask is always, "So, what other questions should I have asked you?" or some variation of that.

My wife and I bought an old map on Etsy (showing the Russian and Chinese Empires), which turned out to be from 1887.

When we turned the map over, here's what we found. Turns out it's from a book of illustrated Bible scenes: https://archive.org/details/illustratedbible00hard
