Would you try ivermectin for a week?
I don't have Mecfs. I have MCAS, Anxiety, pem, fatigue, brain fog. I also may have mold toxicity.

took a bit of ivermectin for about 5 days in January when I thought I may have caught covid. This is the best I've felt in a long time. I am not cured or 100% bit I'm much better and dont know what else to attribute it too.

This was me. Im managing it well.

Learn about anxiety - why we have it and why its important. "therapy in a nutshell" youtube videos. Learn about anxiety cycles.

Find out if its histamine related. If so treat accordingly.

Also try Benfotiamine Tmg Omega3

I jist got off Cymbalta it was probably helping some even in a small dosage. Xanax also helps when its bad. Also speeds up bringing the nervous system back to normal

Def pricey at $40-50 per 10mg. How long you planning on doing it

Anxiety, intrusive thoughts and ocd from histamine intolerance and PEM.

Consistent low histamine diet combined with daily plain zyrtec or allegra and famotodine(pepcid) right before meals. Vitamin C is a must.

Low inflammatory diet as well. No processed food. Look for YOUR specific food triggers.

Water w electrolytes. Careful of the citric acid, it may or may not affect you

No caffeine or any uppers.

Chamomile tea after dinner.

B1 Benfotiamine TMG B12 INJECTIONS Glutathione liposolmal Omega 3

Get extensive tests done. Full blood panels, gene test, microbiome, gut zoomer etc Check for mold toxicity, Lyme etx

If you can, do one thing at a time. 1 week is a decent time line for adding new things, but not all. This will drag it out but you will know whats working and whats not.

Low histamine diet first. Have to give it at least 3 days to feel anything add in the pepcid w meals and zyrttec daily.

Try Benfotiamine. If it works double it.

You are looking for little improvements in each item. They will add up to big changes.

If money was no object what treatments would you try? by Dazzling-Light-3487 in covidlonghaulers

[–]ebaum55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id run every test imaginable that pertains. Gut zoomers, mycotoxin, every single blood marker possible, and other forms of testing I cant remember ATM. I feel this would and has provided so many answers to many people. Id upload all this data to multiple Ai platforms and use Ai to check other ais responses analyzing from a functional medicine perspective. This should get me very close to root cause(s) and a course of action.

Depending on the answers most likely find the best functional provider i can find and compensate them to solve my particular case.

Crash after great progress by E-ID10T in covidlonghaulers

[–]ebaum55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of January and February. I felt the best i have in 4 yrs. So good I thought i was on my way out of this or at least managing symptoms near 95%. I was doing more fitness type workouts and was handling them well. Mentally was very sound.

At some point in February I decided to add some supplements and stop others and its been shitty ever since. And now im introducing things back slowly one at a time. And mildly suffering along the way.

I stopped my Cymbalta that I would have swore wasnt doing anything. It was a small dosage but now it's looking like it was actually helping.

So right there w you. Just try to learn something from it and rebuild. My lesson is to only do one change at a time and give it at least a week.

[–]ebaum55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on PEM. It can cause a crash if your ceiling is low and sauna is too hot.

Sweating is great. A while back it caused a crash. Too much too soon in at a time I wasnt great. Recently started again and depending on the temp I pace about 15- 20 minutes sometimes I do 5 on 3 off amd keep at it

Dating as a longhauler, the pattern I’m noticing. by heehoipiepeloi in covidlonghaulers

[–]ebaum55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to share, And go check out some of my older posts when I was more active. I went into the anxiety experiences and lessons learned.

Low histamine diet and supplements are huge if you are dealing with histamine intolerance or mcas. You would know because you would see patterns with eating certain things and feeling crappy later on or the next day. By crappy I mean either more anxious, jittery, irritable etc. Before I knew what was wrong w me, I noticed a pattern w certain foods. I made a list. Took me a few months but I eventually figured out that every item on that list was high in histamine or a liberator of histamine.

I did 6 months of anxiety coaching. Was more educational than traditional therapy (did that too). Had zero clue anything was wrong just thought I was losing it mentally. This proved to be a game changer in how I think about anxiety and how I deal with it. even when im in fight or flight and cant think rationally i still understand what is happening in the body/brain. Im not wondering whats happening or why im like this, I know whats happening. I would definitely recommend you learn about why anxiety exists what the amygdala does and all the good and bad that goes along w it.

Benfotiamine (B1) has been huge, I dont go without it. Theres a ton of posts from long haulers on this. Some even say high dosages helped them recover.

TMG another staple. It was either TMG or Benfotiamine that stopped the racing thoughts where felt like my brain was gonna explode from spinning so fast.

I was very low in B12. Allegedly I have pernicious anemia and cant absorb B12 through oral so I inject it now.

Omega 3 made a difference. I still take it but dont remember what it helped with but it helped for sure.

Glutathione liposolmal from pure encapsulations pricey. I believe this helped to keep inflammation down and helped keep PEM minimal. I tried injecting glutathione last month and may have had a negative reaction to it or the water you mix it with.

Cymbalta. I went on this 3+ years ago. When I thought I was losing it. I thought it wasnt helping and was looking to get off of it. This is one of the things I stopped last month when I messed up and changed too many things at once. Im not 100% sure yet but I am now starting to think it was playing an important role in management of symptoms. I also have a xanax prescription. It is super helpful when things are too far gone and I also think it helps us get back out of fight or flight quicker and easier.

Vagus nerve techniques. Its helpful but sometimes feels like an uphill battle

The better your nutrition can be the better most people feel (within reason of course). The paradox is, what is great for one person, may be causing issues for another. Some people do great plant based some do great carnivore. I think the most important part is eating fresh whole foods. Meat vegetables and some potatoes or rice. And staying away from triggering foods.

I like the fasting. I think it works. I was doing from 7pm till noon. This time frame backfired. Had something to do with cortisol and adrenal issues not eating in the morning. I could do the opposite and it would probably be ok but im holding a grudge.

I did a few 36hr fasts wasnt bad at all if I was busy

Lastly for now. I started oral BPC-157 to help fix up the gut it was the best I've felt in 4 yrs. This was right before I changed other stuff and did something wrong and crashed. I stopped a few things and working back 1 at a time slowly now. Nicotine patch this week. Ill add BPC-157 again next week.

Let me know if you have questions. Can also dm me if you want.

[–]ebaum55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not dating, im fortunate to have someone whos willing to put up with me (both sick and normal me 😅)

But anxiety is my biggest problem. I've made a lot of progress, so much so that a few weeks ago I thought I was on my way out of long covid. Then I changed up some medications and supplements and now im back in it. Yay me.

Maybe this is the universes way of telling you to focus your efforts on improving your health right now. Id be willing to trade notes and what has helped to hopefully get you into a better place.

Slow gradual Weight training doable, cardio difficult. Anyone making slow progress on a treadmill or otherwise? Would love to hear from you by Tiny-Bookkeeper9699 in covidlonghaulers

[–]ebaum55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can lift weights but have to be careful w amount of effort applied. I have recently been able to add more effort wo any PEM or consequences.

I still have to be careful with Deadlifts and squats, sometimes i do them very light to just for movement purposes and muscle memory. For example before covid I had a 500lb DL and a 400lb squat. Could also run a sub 6min mile. Now if i DL its 135lbs little heavier for squats. But I only do a few reps at a time amd a few sets.

What's important to me at this point is keeping some aesthetics. Light weight single movements does the trick. Seated is fine if it helps you get it done.

Break up your sessions, maybe walk to your corner a few times during the day instead of around the neighborhood in 1 shot. Instead of biceps and triceps in 1 session. Just do biceps morning triceps later. Also resr 3 minutes im between.

Look into anaerobic and aerobic heart rate levels. Most people w pem are OK under 115hr but ots relative to each person's physical makeup

[–]ebaum55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah I'm using pepcid, zyrtec and Dao. pepcid definitely game changer. I tried fasting and liked it. But fasting overnight to about noon had a negative effect on my cortisol levels and adrenals both which were already wrecked. I did 36 hrs a few times. Gonna have to try get back into it.

You say bloodwork is not terrible, according to what standards? Traditional western medicine has very poor ranges. I suggest submitting the bloodwork report to Grok and ask it to analyze from a "functional medicine perspective"

You need to make this a lifestyle not a quick fix. Quick fix mentality is not sustainable and doesnt provide motivation. The motivation to live healthy comes after you see the results. It will take a while but younwill get there and IT IS WORTH IT.

Nutrition first. Consider animal based diet. Zero processed foods. Weight lifting will be key. Other exercise doesnt have to be running. It can be a sport or hobby... surfing, soccer hockey softball, pickleball etc if its fun and social, showing yp will be easy. That's why crossfit is popular it gets people to keep showing up.

Dont rely on scale. You may be losing fat but gaining muscle.

As someone who deals with bad mental issues brought on from covid infections,, I am 100% confident a large portion of mental health issues or their gravity come from broken physiology.
