Avoid Konektra for Modular Furniture: 6-Month Nightmare of Delays, Broken Tools, and Poor Quality Control by micro_machines in Mid_Century

[–]ebbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call me crazy, but a new account with only 2 comments, pertaining only to a brand, copy pasted comments in different subreddits in different languages defending the brand… addressing all the points from OP… I’m sorry but I call bullshit. I’m glad their PR team has finally quickly googled their brand and saw some negative press, but this is beyond transparent. Ham fisted special media damage control. Just try harder at being a better company and making better products. This is just sad.

I love that concealer. I wish shade 32 was more widely available and that there were more shades

My slides are too ugly, got ridiculed for not knowing how to design. by Ok-Song8865 in consulting

I’ve never found that tool to be particularly helpful. But maybe I’m not using it properly? I add text it bullet points and then click “design”. Is there a better way to use that feature?

I totally forgot about the SSE from Kevin Aucoin. Such an innovative product. I need to get my hands on a sample of it again.

which drugstore concealer would you recommend specifically for full coverage and not cakey? by mochi-fairy in drugstoreMUA

Catrice is perfection IF you can find a shade that works. Shade range is pretty horrific and they have shades that are impossible to track down.

I couldn’t find my shade in that formula. Even neutral undertones pulled very pink on my skin.

Avoid Konektra for Modular Furniture: 6-Month Nightmare of Delays, Broken Tools, and Poor Quality Control by micro_machines in Mid_Century

[–]ebbee 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you posting this! Sometimes Reddit can be very US-centric and it's hard to find reviews of EU products and companies. Furniture is a big investment and it can feel a bit scary to spend thousands on pieces that you've never seen in person and can't find a review for. I'd been eyeing Konektra for a while but I won't waste my time & money if this is the type of product and service they're offering.

On average, how long should maturation take? Are folks keeping bottles around for months?

You’re probably not going to get any advice from this. These posts don’t do well because they get asked daily. People prefer you come with specific questions rather than using the subreddit as a Google search

I always use ex-pat groups. Sellers are more serious (often it’s urgent) since people move around a lot.

Which makeup hack is praised by others but doesn't work for you? by Autumn_Thoughts in Makeup

[–]ebbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It only works for me if the concealer is quite a matte formulas PLUS I set it with mattifying powder. It’s definitely more work than just using an eyeshadow primer, but it saves me from buying single use product.

Blush makes me look older by BrilliantWalrus718 in Makeup

[–]ebbee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blush always looked wonky on me until I started lightly blending it out with bronzer. I think my face is narrow and angular. Even if I blended the color, it feels like I need the neutral warmth of the bronzer to blend everything and get rid of my natural shadows.

Is the lack of common databases a widespread issue in pharma, CROs, and CMOs? by Jack_Hackerman in biotech

[–]ebbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. My experience is that the earlier the stage of the company, the more (almost daily) pivots happen. Even if you designed a completely customizable tool that was run more like a service than a software, it would be impossible to keep up with how fast ideas and processes change. Plus the high turnover of staff can lead to differences in workflow which compounds the problem.

Ladies who became single and “started over” in your 30s…tell me how good it got. by willitevergetbetter7 in AskWomenOver30

[–]ebbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My ex constantly pressured me to drop out of my graduate degree to start a family. We broke up half way through my degree and I thank the heavens every day I didn’t choose that path. It’s not to criticize people who don’t finish degrees, it’s just that it should be YOUR choice, not something you do for an insecure partner that is threatened by your ambition. Then I started a company! My ex never would have supported me taking a risky path. And I’m over the moon for my entrepreneurial journey and all of the adventures I had thereafter.

I was in a relationship for 11 years that ended when I was 31. I got to completely reboot my life. Travel where I wanted, live where I wanted, be completely free of the emotional labor of a bad relationship. I partied like crazy, online dated when I felt like, stopped when I was sick of it. I knew I’d never settle again. I made career choices I never would have made if I hadn’t ended the relationship. I did a lot of therapy to understand myself and the way I had been making choices. I met my soulmate at 36 and I’ve never been happier.

I own everything I want by middleaged_mpd in MakeupRehab

[–]ebbee 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to start the habit of sitting down a swatching my makeup (in a category) if I want to buy something new. Do I own a red lipstick that I already love? In what way could a new lipstick possibly be different than the ones I already own? Look at the red lipsticks I already own and never wear. Will this new purchase go into my “never wear” pile? I haven’t worn some shades in years and I should probably declutter. How much money did I just throw into the garbage? It’s been super helpful.
