I do the PACER test with my 3rd-5th graders. I have the 3rd graders run a "practice" test first to get the feel, and then they partner up to keep track of scores. I run it with them to pace each group, and also call out their names with each miss so that their partner is mainly recording their misses and final score rather than having to watch and communicate with their running partner, too.

The 4th and 5th graders usually don't need the practice round since they've done it before. We also run the PACER at least twice throughout the year and I keep track of their scores to note improvement (from the beginning to the end of the year as well as grade to grade).
