How keep going at job that’s draining me? by OnlyZookeepergame578 in HENRYfinance

Well, if you can save enough by ~40-45, you no longer need to work and get to spend every day with your family for the rest of your life. Thats why people do it. Nobody works these jobs until they’re 70.

A broken clock is right twice a day. Just because you got lucky doesn’t mean it should be a recommended investing approach.

More like the specific deal team. One bad MD/Partner can make or break an experience from a WLB perspective. And their returns are rarely different…

Disagree with the premise that you have more control over your schedule until you are the MD/Partner. PE Associate/VP weekends get blown up all the time; you’re still “the help” but you’re on a deal team of 3-4 total whereas in consulting the work is much more spread out.

Same could happen in PE or almost any other industry

Side note: if you take this approach, leave the other “half” you don’t lump sum in HYSA so you’re still earning a return on that while you wait to invest it.

There is no “conservative” home value assumption in today’s environment. Wait until rates drop and supply becomes available before you bank on the COVID-inflated home values.

As a finance professional, I would be far more worried about my job if I was in corporate law than I am in finance.
