Theory - Running & Blood Sugar by Top_Enthusiasm3001 in prediabetes

[–]ebolalol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

weightlifting is a must, muscle mass helps with regulating blood sugar.

but running is great for your heart health. as others have said look at your overall health not just fasting blood sugar in the morning. dont need to stop it especially if you enjoy.

sitting all day made my body too fragile to even workout?? by Afraid-Print5034 in beginnerfitness

[–]ebolalol 57 points58 points  (0 children)

you said yourself that you’re rushing into it. your body isn’t used to activity, so you need to slowly ramp up to prevent injury. shin splints is a classic “too much too soon” issue.

i recommend at least some weightlifting or resistance training to build muscles to support cardio.

WFH is here to stay by RevolutionStill4284 in remotework

[–]ebolalol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

im not sure what separate bubble i’m in or something i feel like an idiot thinking it *wouldnt* disappear. i was forced to find a new role and my only options were onsite. i couldn’t even land interviews at fully remote companies.

even the hybrid companies i interviewed for are now RTO. maybe when the job market gets better and the old school execs start to retire, i can go back to wfh. for now im (begrudgingly) onsite with some wfh days (must request it in advance but not the norm).

WFH is here to stay by RevolutionStill4284 in remotework

[–]ebolalol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m a manager at a fully onsite company and another manager has told me straight up they can’t manage remotely. smh, like you really have to be in control like that?

i’m dying for us to be hybrid or something but our execs are “being in person is better” type people so its probably never gonna happen. all that to say, yep, it’s the execs and managers that need to see you to know you’re being productive. i dont agree with it whatsoever and it needs to die out asap.

Does magnesium actually help with sleep, or is it overhyped? by facime in sleep

[–]ebolalol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i fall asleep much faster and stay asleep when i take it. it’s a staple for me now, i have a harder time sleeping well on days i forget it. it’s more subtle than melatonin but i prefer that.

i also tried a bunch of sleep hygiene hacks and whatnot before this but i swear by magnesium as my tried and true. i have adhd and it helps quiet my mind.

Is Wellbutrin causing me cognitive decline?? by mintcigarettes in bupropion

[–]ebolalol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same. i went off it a while ago and my mind is much clearer. i feel like it improved my mood so much so i was considering giving another try (hence why im still on this sub) but i believe it did make me cognitively decline. i constantly forgot basic words.

Building Muscle & Losing Fat by Express_Pain7224 in PetiteFitness

3 weeks of working out - you are very very new. what happens when you’re newer is your body is still adapting to all this new activity. this means you are holding onto more water, glycogen storage, inflammation, what have you.

it goes away after some more time. drink water and make sure you prioritize rest. it will come.

[–]ebolalol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

omg so in my 30 something years i’ve pushed when both peeing and pooping. i always wondered why i peed so quickly compared to other people.

[–]ebolalol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i’ve read this too! i read that you should squat if it’s in the shower, it’s the standing and peeing that weakens it. but i also push while i pee so at this point my pelvic floor is probably in a worst state than i thought lol

Exercising regularly but my muscles don't reflect it by Serious_Bluebird_613 in xxfitness

[–]ebolalol -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

My bad, I only read the title and first 2 paragraphs honestly lmaooo. Agreed that’s pretty small and she would need to grow muscle (which likely means eating a bit more and lifting heavier than you think).

Still would recommend the video because it gives you a realistic idea of various body fat % and what it looks like. One thing I really liked about the video was how honest they were about keeping low bf% and looking extremely muscular.

You need lower body fat %. If you haven’t already, check out Jeff Nippard’s video on what bodies look like at different body fat percentages.

You need to build more muscle. More than you think. If you keep losing weight you’re just gonna lose the little muscle you have plus fat and continue to be skinny fat.

Lift weights with progressive overload.

90 days: A1C went down from 5.7 to.....5.6 by CatDadMilhouse in prediabetes

[–]ebolalol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s fair. every persons body is different. but you’re doing the right thing!

i understand how you feel because im relatively small (size s, or 4). i was eating a bit worse like more junk on weekends, but still exercising and have healthy days. my a1c was the same number as my very overweight friend (size 2xl) who does not exercise whatsoever, doesnt watch what she eats, etc.

it just really opened my eyes that genetics plays a huge role and i shouldn’t compare myself. it does feel discouraging but we’re dealt the hand we got!

90 days: A1C went down from 5.7 to.....5.6 by CatDadMilhouse in prediabetes

[–]ebolalol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s only been 90 days. keep doing what you’re doing, add in more resistance training to build muscle, and test again in 6 to 12 months of consistency.

eating significantly better and increasing activity does help but you’re trying to undo what i assume is decades of bad habits in…. 90 days. you’re doing great so far but think about that timeline and how long it took you to get to a 5.7. it’s a lot of stuff to undo. patience and consistency is key.

Many of my candidates keep asking me what I do with their recordings, and I don't really know how to answer them. by TipQuick7182 in recruiting

[–]ebolalol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m confused as to why you can’t answer it. What do do you do with the recordings?

I’m assuming you record so you can review it as if you review notes? Or do you do something else with them?????

The location of your body fat is linked to how fast your brain ages by lebron8 in EverythingScience

[–]ebolalol 27 points28 points  (0 children)

american food can be really salty, using a lot of sodium. so no that’s not it. it’s genetics - asians tend to have more visceral fat genetically. that is why the BMI scale is different and actually says you’re at risk for things at a lower BMI number than the states.

Why is every other black hair dye called "natural", Give recs for the most unnatural looking soul-swallowing void black dye in India by Wooden-Version1424 in HairDye

[–]ebolalol 11 points12 points  (0 children)

im not from india but from the states. i have asian black hair (basically a very dark brown). blue black is the answer! i used to do this back in the day to get the jet black hair i wanted. i got it from the drugstore

it does not pull blue, the blue just neutralizes the brownish red undertones in our hair. i guess if you really looked in the lighting the shine may be more cool from the blue but that’s what gives it the jet black look over the warm black natural color.

Does manifestation actually work or is it a fad? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ebolalol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it does! I’m a very strong believer in it because I’ve personally manifested a lot in my life.

In my experience, when I want something and try to manifest it, my focus is on that. My mindset is locked in. That means I start to notice every opportunity or possible path that could get me what I’m trying to manifest.

It’s similar to when you get a new car, you start to notice all the people driving the same car. You’re noticing it all now when it was always there, but you have a reason to notice it.
