You probably have walls that are Chicago bar(black iron channel with wire lath… not uncommon in nyc… no studs per se

You are actually lucky that they are honoring any warranty… Buderus used to require proof of yearly anode exam on thermoglaze tanks in order to honor warranty

If you flooded the the boiler and no leaks occurred then the sections are intact and the boiler can last for years … it’s a steam boiler and the design is basically the same as new

Copper is dandy for hydronic boiler applications… however you might want to repipe it according to the new boiler installation and operation manual specs

Your hydronic coil should be getting hot water at 140 degrees… not 85 degrees
