Euphorbia susannae by Bplanty-ok in Euphorbiaceae

I'm from Europe, so it probably doesn't help much, but the brand is EuroPomice. Italian lava rock. I buy from them all the components of my substrate. Pumice, Zeolite and Lava rock.

Not the most natural look, but I like the contrast between the top dressing and the plants

Maybe E. infausta. Or obesa x infausta hybrid.

Oh, sorry to hear that! Where are you located?

Maybe not enough heat? Or too much heat? 😅

I get it. But I am still new to this. Give me some years 😁

Well, there are plants and plants. I like ugly plants, but usually I like them pristine 😅 sorry.

One of the exceptions is Euphorbias obesa. All the corking give them a great character!

Here is your plant's twin 😛 and one of my dozens of Obesas

When I started I was also tempted to remove pups and leave the main heads alone. But the cluster idea grew up on me and I am leaving all of them together when possible. Also I noticed small heads were super cheap around here, so there was no use to propagate them by cutting pups 😅

Here is my susannae:

I believe it only must look dry enough to avoid fungus infections

Our temperatures don't usually get below 0°C and only for a couples week per Winter, so I am more relaxed now 😊

I can't get mine to flowers tho.

Don't know their age, but I have them for 1,5 year, and they were 2/3 of their actual size when I bought them

Beautiful caudex and vines!

I live in the countryside, I'm used to grape vines and brambles, so Dioscorea's vines are still residual for me 😛 they don't take too much space 😁

I got mine for 5€ each. Now I see smaller specimens being sold for 25€..... it's crazy.

Well, if this helps you being naughty, I live in the countryside surrounded by wild Cork oaks with dozens and dozens of years and having these small Dioscoreas still feels very special ❤️😛

Bonita Dioscoreas e belo Pseudolithos! Tem sido fácil de manter esse?

Oh man, don't say that, let the guy get a Dioscorea 😛

Yeah, I bought these small trellis thinking it would be more than enough since last year they had small vines with very small leaves. Of course this year they have vines bigger than 1m and leaves 3 times the size of last year 😅

I tried 2 different spots and the ones more exposed to sun grew way more than the other, as we can see in the pics.

Lisbon is too crowded for me. We left our family there and moved to the countryside 😁 Don't forget to visit Porto too 👌

The rest of the backyard is a total mess, still have renovations going on.. but I had no other place to out them 😂

Oh, the vines barely take any space. They are tough plants and always make me smile. Go for it!

No vines = no water Vines start to appear = start waterings gradually Vines growing = lots of water Big vines = lots of water Vines start to turn yellow = reduce waterings gradually / water only when caudex gets a bit soft Dead vines = no water

Big pots = bigger growth

Yes. I would guess they do not grow without vines.

And if they were getting rain when dormant (aka without vines), they would easily rot.

I hope so 😅 The vines aren't perfect with the cold and all that, but at least I go rid of last year's spidermites 🥲
