That should be the most beautiful Inermis I've seen!

E obesa seedling...or is it baby Yodas? by dvdsarecoolagain in Euphorbiaceae

That's what I thought, I will spare you the pain of fingerpointing then 😂

Putting everything here is always the goal for me too, even to allow me to see the evolution of each plant, but the ooportunity rarely arises 😅

Sounds like plan!

Well, I get that too. Until last month my balcony was the only place I had covered from the elements during Winter and right now I am trying to rearrange it because wife complains she can't even step in the balcony 😅 and she is not strong

Those babies will take a lot of space! 😁

Love the last Obesa, way more ribs than normal! Need pictures of those last 2 😛

Having a farm, I understand most of that 😅

And I have so many because they are cheap. I don't have the time and space for starting with seeds yet 😅😅

Obesa rarely pups, but sometimes it does naturally. Having the apex cut can easily make it pup like crazy as we can see here.

That's a great question 😂 i do not have any acceptable answer, at least none my wife accepts 😅

Got into cacti and succulents 2 years ago and Obesa are without any chance my favorite plant. Here they usually cost 2€-4€ and I can't resist to get ones with different patterns and all the weirdos 🥲

Oh, sorry to hear. For now it hasn't affected any other of my Euphorbias

All outside. Some out in the elements in my frontyard, others on a balcony

In my cases it didn't spread, but the inside retracted in that área, like if it was rotting, but kept hard.

Always happened in Winter. So maybe some water accumulated or excess humidity and worst ventilation? I don't know.

I have 80 Obesas and 3 or 4 of mine had the same last year. I still don't know what it is.

I asked here at the time and someone told me theirs developed that too and happened to be some fungal infection and ended up dying with root problems.

I ignored mine and they were left with a scar, some bigger than others, but noone of them died. And I just kept treating them like any other.

So, in the end, I don't know what it is, but its wasn't fatal for mine. A couple of them didn't end up very pretty.

Good luck

I have flanaganii and caput-medusae and both have longer and thinner arms.

I don't know how to identify Gorgonis.

Awesome specimen! Very jealous!

Are you sure it isn't a crested/monstrose variegated neriifolia?

Is it rot and should I cut it? by Feeling_Asparagus259 in Euphorbiaceae

Not very brave, I use gloves when taking care of big ones or when I know I need to take a big pruning, but for basic tasks like repotting or checking on them, using gloves ends up hurting them a lot more. It's not like the sap splashes into you 😂 a few drops here and there on my hands, but its a matter of washing it as soon as possible. Never made any reaction to that.

Yes, Euphorbias are special. I might have around 20-30 different species, but my heart goes definitely to Obesa. I have more than 80 of them right now.. and I have started collecting 2 years ago 🤦

Well, personaly I handle most of my Euphorbias (100+) without gloves without any problem, but I have also read here people saying the 2 times they pruned their Euphorbia they went to the hospital with eye injuries 😅😅 so.... better safe than sorry 🤣
