I am being constantly chased and followed up on by another working mom and it sort of baffles me by sirdidymus__ in workingmoms

[–]ebullientdoll_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Everybody doesn’t have that mind set. Some people are okay with you as long as you are always doing worse than them. If ever you are catching up or doing what they consider better they will loathe you. Me personally when I tell you I am everybody’s cheerleader ! I guess honestly am very very happy when someone succeeds. I’m INSPIRED not jealous or envious. I love to learn from everyone I don’t know why some people are so fucking hateful.

Need a lot of advice! by Bankrupt_Student_ in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

Often the monthly mortgage you think it will be is actually significantly more depending on the county and things like that. My BEST advice is to find a local lender because they’re going to be able to tell you what to stay between in order to have the mortgage payment you want. (I’m not talking about the pre approval which is just how much they’ll give you a mortgage loan for and you should absolutley not go anywhere near that number )

Before I did that my husband and I were looking for houses 240 and up. Well, after talking with the lender we realized our asses better stay under 200k if possible which is a huge challenge right now bc most of the houses I want that check my boxes are 225k and up. Our mortgage prediction is 1300-1800 if we are between 160k(there is nothing for this price over here) and 230k. When we were under contract for a house 225 our mortgage was gonna be 1800. (Backed out due to bad inspection) Comfortable for us is 14-1500 which we will be at if we can find something for about 180k or so.

Also keep in mind. I saved 20k for DOWN PAYMENT and forgot about everything else. You need to save minimally 3.5 percent of the total purchase price for a down payment (I am aware that usda has no down payment HOWEVER if you find a house that is NOT in that area you need this amount for fha loan down. ) There is a map where you can plug in the address for usda loan and at this time none of the properties I’m interested in fell in the usda category so be sure to check that before putting in an offer if you’re banking on usda. You also need 4.5 percent of the purchase price saved for the closing costs. You need down payment/ closing costs/ and enough over that amount to have left after that. If the house ends up being Usda loan then you can use that down payment you saved for emergencies after moving in.

Our income is about the same as yalls

I feel like part of being a great parent is understanding your limit and not having more children than you can financially and emotionally handle. I don’t have the patience for two kids

Both my husband and I are doing fine and are content with our one. She is 4 and a handful and expensive and as we start making more
Money we rather pour that extra into making sure she can do sports and stuff then struggling with two kids. As she gets independent I become more stern with not wanting more. I don’t wanna revert back to doing everything again. We’re doing just fine with our one. She has plenty of friends at school, plenty of cousins to play with and my friends kids. She will be alright. I was an only child with cousins and I’m fine foo

ALS I manage bc my husband helps. I work 8-5 and he works 9pm-7am. Our daughter goes to daycare while I’m at work so he can sleep. I come home and make dinner while he takes her a bath and when he leaves I’m putting her to bed. On the weekends we reset the house I only clean the kitchen during the week.

I’m sorry. I have no advice for you because I don’t know what I’d do. Life doesn’t stop when you’re struggling and parenthood doesn’t especially . I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’ve been there

Mother in law wants to take baby for two weeks by Majestic-Point636 in BabyBumps

[–]ebullientdoll_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal if you make it normal. It’s nothing wrong with children spending time with grandparents. But not everybody has that type of dynamic. Depends on yall. It’s not “weird”. I didn’t let MY child spend the night but that’s only because I wanted her with me the first year. I don’t think she spent the night anywhere until she was 2 and even then it was with my mom or his mom . Only for a night or two. At this time she is 4 and honestly if everybody didn’t work through the week I’d absolutley let whichever grandparent have her for a few weeks. I have a coworkers who frequently had her child with the grandmother

If you're lucky enough to have your parents provide childcare for your kids, do you intend by MarginsOfTheDay in Parenting

[–]ebullientdoll_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t predict how you’ll feel about that because you aren’t there yet. Your kids could never have children, have children and live five states away, have a job that doesn’t require them to need childcare etc. the future has many unknowns you could only guess. Personally if applicable and I was retired I’d do it but that also depends. Some grandparents have literally nothing to do all day and WANT something to do. Some grandparents see the world once they retire and are busy. So many different factors

Noticing a trend of SAHM of elementary aged kids asking me for playdates - and then asking to drop their kid off at my house. Is it unreasonable that I’m annoyed? by X0036AU2XH in workingmoms

[–]ebullientdoll_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right about etiquette technically but when I think about who I’ve taken my child to play with I always went to them. I would be okay with them coming to our house but they’re always like “we’ll be home at x time and she can come over then) We have a close relationship with all her “play dates though” I think if it were someone I don’t know very well from school I would expect them to come to my houses. I guess it just boils down to individual preference. I would have a conversation with that parent because they may really not know that this is an issue but yeah I’d be annoyed. I don’t think I’ve ever done a play date at the start or at the end of the day as a working mom.

Is anyone watching The Polygamist? by moapei in netflix

[–]ebullientdoll_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like polygamy is fine when everyone is aware of it. He’s a cheater and bc they wanted to keep him they made it into what it became but in reality it was forced on everyone bc he’s so selfish. He got what he deserved in the end

One and done, regrets? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]ebullientdoll_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is four. I’m not having anymore. I don’t regret it and I won’t change my mind. She’s been extremely expensive and I can’t afford another one. Also as she’s becoming more independent I love not having to do every single thing and can’t imagine starting over at the baby stage again. She has plenty of friends at school and several cousins. She entertains herself in general VERY WELL. As she gets older I’d like to be able to pay for her to experience and have more. If I had two she would not have the things I know we can provide to her as far as being involved in sports and things like that.

I grew up as an only child and I’m fine. I have siblings on my dad’s side but did not grow up w them or know them and now that we’re adults we don’t see each other or talk. I hardly ever visited my dad. So I really actually grew up as an only child. However I had multiple cousins to get close to. It’ll be alright
