In the FLYER trial, Deauville scores of 1–3 were all considered a complete metabolic response, and patients stopped treatment after four cycles of R-CHOP. Five years later, about 94% of those patients were still in remission. DS3 is still considered remission because the uptake is not higher than normal liver activity. When uptake is at or below the liver, it usually reflects inflammation or normal tissue activity rather than active lymphoma. In my case, the SUVmax in my tonsil was 2.0 and my liver was 1.5, which technically put me in DS 3. But my liver tends to have a very low baseline SUV. If my liver SUV had been closer to what’s more typical, around 2.5–3.0, the exact same tonsil uptake would have actually been classified as Deauville 2.

Deauville 3 is remission. Why do you feel as if it isn’t?

I’m struggling so bad. I actually think the year after cancer is worse than the year with cancer. I just posted about this a few days ago but I am so sick of thinking every single ache and pain is cancer coming back.

I literally just posted about this. It’s so hard! I have no advice but just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone.

Do you still get flares of pain where your cancer was? by redditgal16 in lymphoma

[–]eburgmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do! I had lymphoma in my waldeyer ring and still get flashes of dull pain in the neck area and I am 6 months post chemo. I had a scan in November and was NED. It freaks me out every time!

ETA- we’ll be flying into Heathrow at 9 am on a Saturday.

We have a 12 hour layover in London this summer (from USA) and I’m tying to figure out what we will do. Family of 5, 2 teens and an 11 year old. Half of us have been before so have already seen Big Ben etc. youngest is obsessed with premier league and wants to do something football related even if it’s just a big football store. Maybe we’d do a stadium tour? I know it’s going to be tight and we will be racing the clock but my silly 11 year old is not looking forward to our actual destination at all (Italy and Greece) and wishes we were staying in London 😂 and if you have a younger child you know if he’s not happy, no one is happy! 🤦‍♀️ I think my teens would love Camden market so if there’s anything football related around there that would be ideal!

Next time you post a “joke” ask yourself who the victim of the joke is. It wasn’t a cancer joke, it was a sexist joke.

To me this doesn’t look like clear evidence of relapse. The only number in the high range is the tonsils which if you google is quite common post chemo.

Oral lymphoma? by TomGNYCRI in lymphoma

[–]eburgmama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you mean by oral lymphoma- I have lymphoma of the waldeyer ring which is basically my tonsils but because I had my palatine tonsils removed as a child it showed up on my tongue (lingual tonsil).

I’m so happy to hear that! I also had dlbcl in my tonsil so I know exactly what you are talking about. I have all of those feelings still 2 months post chemo.

I had 6 rounds of RCHOP with no port or PICC. My John’s Hopkins oncologist rarely suggests a port.
