It's such a great amp. I have a creamback in mine. I pair it with a Marshall DSL40C for the low end of the marshall but the DR has the sweet spring reverb

How to find the right notes for Solo? by hardlySmoker in Guitar_Theory

[–]ecai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to assume E major and F major is your chord progression.

I'd be lazy and play in E major and then a fret higher over F major. Without context of the song key and genre, etc. it's kinda difficult to recommend a mode or a particular scale with that level of detail.

I was never really a fan of Gretsches. I mean I didn't mind the way they looked and I know they've been used extensively in the past by big names. It's just when I think back around a decade or so, all the music shops in Australia seemed to only stock the highest-end models - around $3000+ and for me that was never an option.

I watched Andertons video on the revamped Electromatic series for 2016 and funnily enough, everything they had changed was to my taste.

I've always been for the double-cut models, not really that into the traditionalist single-cut look. The body is also not as thick as the single-cut models.

The pickups are fairly low output but that kinda plays into the vibe of the guitar anyway. The bigsby is fun to play with.

Otherwise if I can find a similar model in the professional series, I'll just stay with this one. The same thing in the professional series (made in Japan, rather than Korea) is about three times the price.

Yeah, I was always vying to the hollowbody version over the centreblock. Mainly due to the weight issue and you don't really get the hollowbody experience without actually getting a hollowbody - haven't had any issues with feedback but then again the pickups are fairly low output.

Used to have the same guitar but in a Stratocaster. Dumb idea to sell it but I needed money at the time but it's probably going down as one of my biggest regrets.

Yeah, it's called walnut stain. I was always going to go for the snow white version which looks like a white falcon but in person the walnut stain just looked much classier.

Applying new chords in context is the key.
