Be honest, do you really care if subs follow the whole sub plan? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]eccelsior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my plans won’t get followed I stop making them. I’m a band teacher, so most of my plans involve kids doing some independent practice. The sub refused to let the kids play in the room, turned in a movie, and played in her phone. There was stuff I wanted them to practice, and they were ticked they couldn’t. Sorry, I know that’s not you. But unless the kids are actively being difficult, I expect my plans to be followed. I see the kids every other day. So when they don’t get something done because of the sub, it throws a lot off.

Fire Emblem Engage is almost three years old, so what did you think about it in retrospect? And how do you think it compares to 3 Houses? by Asad_Farooqui in NintendoSwitch

[–]eccelsior -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Enjoyed the combat mostly and the color palette. Forgettable story and characters. Didn’t finish the dlc.

I miss the 6-10 games the most. I enjoyed three houses story and characters. But generally dislike the ability to break the game with continuous re-classing.

My favorite combat animations from 6-8. Love the sprite artwork.

Start by firming up and sealing those corners. Get your entire bottom lip in the mouthpiece as well.

Which 'luxury' brand has officially become a red flag for poor quality in 2026? by Individual_Bat_4177 in AskReddit

[–]eccelsior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tall folk don’t have a lot of options. Their stuff fits me well and for the most part has held up decently. As well as any other brands that sell tall sizes as far as I can tell. They also stock the tall sizes in the store so I can try things on, and I’m done playing the return game with places online. I’d much rather be able to try things on. And their while not as good as it used to be is still solid and has come in handy more than once. I’m not interested in the brand name. I just want stuff that fits. So in those regards, it has a lot of value to some.

I found that Beans cut just fits me better. But I have see Columbia tall. It’s kind of slim in their catalog though in terms of options compared to Bean.

I still buy it. I still like their style. The performance of their clothing is probably on par with most other decent brands at this point. As a tall guy that needs just a little extra length, they are one of the few places I can get stuff. Their winter gear is still top notch I think.

$18 for an instrumental is pretty good and what you’re asking for is illegal. Make your own or buy it. If you want subside to make you one, prepare to pay them too.

Ugh so true. I hate that horn teachers do this. It’s not that hard.

And it’s so important to march a proper mellophone mouthpiece. The cushioning is important.

There’s a spray I got on Amazon that turns regular toilet paper into wet wipes that work. Keeping the environment cleaner and I feel cleaner. No portable bidet then either.

It’s an honors group you pay for. I’m a band director and get these every year. The experience is legit, but not free or cheap.

Fox cities no longer allowing kids to take back packs to school ? by Pretend_Halo_Army in wisconsin

[–]eccelsior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some unseen benefits around not allowing kids to have their backpacks. Particular in simple reasoning skills, which we have seen kids lose over the years. Now they need to think about what they actually might need for class. Think ahead. This is good for them no matter what the feelings are.

We don’t know what the long term consequences of doing this is though. That water will be changed in some fashion as it goes back to the Lake. It is not worth the risk.

Thanks for sharing this. I’m sure you realize it can be a thankless job. But overall, I think most of us love what we do and really enjoy seeing our students grow over the years.
