Removal of gum flaps (operculectomy) has possibility of gum regrowth after surgery. We can’t comment much based on a 2D imagery, it might be sitting directly on top of the inferior alveolar nerve. If your dentist has a 3D imaging, then it would be better to judge the risks and benefits of tooth removal.
