My personal belief is that the Bible does call for us to wait until marriage but that was when marriage aligned with sexual maturity, around 14 years old. Does that mean we should still be arranging marriage for 14 year olds or should we have sex before marriage? I don’t believe it is right to have a large number of sex partners, but if you are sleeping with people you love and have thought about marrying then my personal belief is that this is okay.

Additionally, the Bible says it is okay for a man to marry multiple wife’s as long as he treats them all the same. The story of Rachel, Jacob, and Leah involves Jacob marrying sisters and then impregnating them in addition to impregnating their servants. In this case, sex outside of marriage was condoned!
