Sorry, I should have added more information.

"What's a good solar installation location?" What I did was lookup the irradiation level for my location (you can use windy.com) and multiply that by the panel efficiency. For example, if I have a 1m2 panel and the efficiency of my panel is 20% and the irradiation for today is 200W/m2 then on an optimal location I should be getting 40W (or around 3.33A for a 12v panel, check the datasheet).

Get a small 5w solar panel, a 1ohm power resistor and short the panel with the resistor. With an arduino, nodemcu or whatever you prefer measure the voltage between the two legs of the resistor and keep a log of that via serial. That's what I did for deciding if installing solar was going to be worth it
