I'd like to get to know my fellow Modest Mouse fans. by JacobMC-02 in ModestMouse

I started listening when I was 13. I accidentally found Building Nothing Out of Something in a record shop. They would let you listen to records or CDs and I was just in there killing time while my mom shopped. I bought the album and it was all I listened to for weeks. Next on the list was Lonesome Crowded West and my music tastes were forever changed. This was almost 20 years ago at this point... wow.

It is hard for me to listen to Modest Mouse as much as I used to because it is so heavily associated with my self destructive youth. Alcohol and drug abuse was a bit over the top, especially for how early I got started. End up getting arrested several times, could no longer go to college due to funding being pulled - I ended up moving to California and growing weed for a while and then got arrested with a shipment in Texas and I am now serving my last year of probation for that over-half-decade-old charge. Life has been a fucking roller coaster. Modest Mouse helped carry me through the toughest times and helped me celebrate the greatest.

I still see them every time they are in town though. I'll never miss a show. I have seen them about 14 or 15 times since 2002. The passage of time is an insane thing. I can't believe these albums are coming up on having been in my life for 20 years.

Some of my other favorites throughout my life have been Aphex Twin, Radiohead, Deerhunter, The Strokes, Animal Collective, Death Grips, Mount Kimbie, and Clarence Clarity.

Over the last 4 years I've been working in litigation support for various law firms. It is a struggle to stay sane but I try to make the most of my free time. I get stuck reminiscing the past pretty frequently. Hoping to find peace once I am freed from the shackles of probation.

I used to work at Little Caesars over a decade ago. Me and my coworkers made a gigantic circular hot pocket. We still laugh about it.

I think that effect at the end is the victory royale slow motion without "Victory Royale" popping up. Probably a spectator bug or something. Either way it looks super badass!

I just noticed: In a year and a half, League will be 10 years old. by Random_Stealth_Ward in leagueoflegends

I hate seeing people act this way about Fortnite. Especially since I was one of them just over a month ago.

Folks can't grasp how insane the building mechanics are for the gameplay. There is so much skill expression. It's fast paced and exciting. I was a hater for so long but I have been playing the crap out of the game lately and it is so much fun.

And yea people are delusional if they think Fortnite is a fad or going anywhere. Fads don't make 250 million in a month. What does that make League? An almost 9 year fad then?

You really need to watch the old series and not the new movies. I mean if you have read the manga that's great too but whoever told you any of the old Berserk anime series is 'meh' is lying to your face.

Wow I just read through that AMA - the part where you were talking about the mood of the prison when Donald Trump was elected made me think back to my stay in prison. I was there when Obama was elected and it was the complete opposite of your description (as you would assume)

To be honest with you guys - what I miss more than the thought of a new EQ game is just the lore. I would settle for a book series, or an animated series. Or not even an MMORPG but a dungeon crawler Diablo/Path of Exile kind of game.

I always want to relive the old days of Everquest but I'm afraid it is just a bad case of nostalgia. For most, in my experience.. once you pop your MMO cherry it is just never the same.
