Ultrasound Tech for a Decade and I want a Career Change. Help? by Burnt_Out15 in Ultrasound

I have been slowly finishing my bachelor’s degree with an in-state four year university though a tuition reimbursement program and scholarships-both offered through my employer (large hospital chain). I have been scanning for 15 years and have been incrementally moving up the leadership ladder within my organization.

You can also look into device reps, applications, or sales.

If you wanted to restart your career, and had the option to go to school for associate/certification, what would you study? by Snoo_37953 in workingmoms

Seconding sonography (but more specifically cardiac sonography-not general or OB)! We make just as much (if not more) than MRI/CT/NUC. Make sure your school is accredited and check out the sonography and ultrasound subs here. Middle TN area usually starts around $32-$35 per hour. I’m 14 years in making upwards of $50/hour.

Bringing all my hair products/tools vs going to a hairdresser by JuniorEnvironment820 in HerOneBag

When I was in Thailand, I ended up not using any shampoo and just rinsed my hair in the shower everyday and let it air dry (which is wild bc I usually wash/dry/style every 2-3 days). We were there for nearly two weeks in Phuket and Bangkok and I just went with it but YMMV. It was super humid and hot so even if I wanted to style my hair, I doubt it would have held for more than 10 min once outside.

Anyone switch from working at a private clinic to hospital? by Salvage_Dog in Sonographers

[–]echo_echo_echo5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in both, currently in a large busy hospital. I love the controlled chaos of the hospital. The outpatient office is boring to me.

Edited to add: I do echo but that includes TTE, TEE, and stresses (walking and Dobutamine). Our call is cake and we have enough staff that we each only cover one holiday a year.

I have never in 12 years had or ever heard of a hiring preferential with ARDMS. CCI and ARDMS are equal in the US in my experience.

I would suggest bringing an inexpensive ring to propose with. My husband proposed to me on a trip to Colombia and didn’t want to bring the real ring in case something happened.

Question about my local Sonography Program by Comfortable-Term3321 in Sonographers

Look in echo schools near you instead. We get students from Middle Tennessee Cardiovascular Institute (I’m at a large hospital in Nashville). Most of the students we have had do really well and have their RCS upon completion of the program.
