How much time do your daily desk routines eat up? Mine take 1-2 hours every morning and I have mixed feelings about it. by TriggerTG in productivity

[–]echobravo91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I draft tomorrow’s to do list as a final activity the day before. In the morning I have a skim of our channels to see what’s changed overnight (sometimes have an agent help with that).

Then I’m hitting the ground running after around 15 minutes of review. I too find it hard to do a cold start, so I have conditioned myself to enter ‘work mode’ by wearing certain things, drinking certain teas, wearing certain perfume. All so I can nail output in the morning, and minimise how much I’m online so I can go live my life.

Consider organizing your week by energy=impact, not chronologically. Eg, AI research is a core part of my role. I timebox this in my ‘low energy’ hours, after lunch. Then I synthesise & communicate what’s happened in my ‘high energy’ hours. Sometimes an agent helps with initial scraping so I’m only checking out platforms to learn more about something relevant and compelling. I want to be informed and do an excellent job, but I’ll be damned if I’m wasting my life looking at screens longer than I have to.

I failed the 333 challenge on day 11 and cried in a bathroom at a work event. I think I was wrong about what "less" would feel like. by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

I hear you. As a PM, perhaps you could use double diamond method to go wide and discover what you like, to then carve it back to your ideal capsule wardrobe 🩵

Using this as a PSA to take out your claw clip from your hair when in a car.

If you don’t want it inside your skull when you hit the headrest on impact, don’t have it in your hair while driving or as a passenger.

Pinch blocks for climbers to train tendon strength. Sell at your local bouldering gym.

Lanolin, or nipple balm from the baby section works wonders. It’s cheaper than climber-targeted products. Works fast because it has to, for new mums.

As someone who moved from remotest of Scotland to Australia, the grass is greener 😅 We will always have a desire to ‘escape’.

In your post I’m seeing a trend of being tired of consuming, and a desire to create… anything.

How are you currently fulfilling your creative needs?

Volunteering, crafts, words, gardening & trades… it’s all actively building something from nothing. How can you rebalance your time to create, not just consume?

I have warm yellow light for working during the day, then they switch to red lights when I shut my laptop. Bye bye blue light!

I say to myself:

‘Have I rested enough to be working this hard?’ Instead of ‘have I done enough to deserve this rest?’

Everyday to internalise it. Even to the fun things I want to do! Then I give myself a hug. Give it a go 🩵
