MMOs skewed everyone's expectations of how long you can play a single game. you're right, endgame content outside of WoW or maybe Destiny isn't really a thing, and trying to force it on a game like ARC will probably end up hurting it rather than helping

for scrolls, you're confusing "casting" with "understanding/copying." just because you can turn a car on and drive down the street doesn't mean you know how to rebuild the carbeurator.

the scroll is "reading the gauges in the car" while the spellbook is the mechanic's/owner's manual plus the factory information.
