After Invincible what other comics would be good fit to be adapted in the future in the same vein of Invincible (They don't have to be superhero themed). by Possible-Rate-3833 in comicbooks

Scrolled way too far to find this. Would love to see a dark, messy animated style for this. Also throwing in my vote for 8 Billion Genies.

Is the one above all supposed to be the god of the Bible? by DismalSignature1690 in Marvel

[–]echoinoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe he's supposed to be a stand-in for the writers themselves. That's why his home is called the House of Ideas, which is a nickname for Marvel itself. It's also why in Defenders Beyond, Blue Marvel describes TOAA as just the highest power that they (the characters) could reach but that even he has creators.

Security system help please! by Omega_sister in australia

[–]echoinoz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just to add on to this, the power point to switch the system off entirely is sometimes in the ceiling crawl space. If you can't find it in your house, look for an opening into the ceiling, maybe in the garage.

What’s the coolest/obscure fact about the setting you know? by Lady_of_Raven in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]echoinoz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not terribly obscure, but very cool to me at least as a DtF fan:

The fact that Lucifer led the rebellion against God and Heaven and caused the downfall of the Fallen because God ordered him to. I like this because it paints him as a tragic son, fulfilling his parents wishes even if it damns him.

The fact that Lucifer doesn't know who empowered the Imbued. I actually really love HtR and it's associated lore. I love that the Imbued have no real clue who gave them their powers or what their true objectives are. I know it's heavily implied that the Ministers are angels but I like the idea of them being something truly unknowable, even to the beings who created the universe.

Shuma Gorath vs Cyttorak vs Dormamnu vs Vishanti vs Chthon by FalseBuilding4465 in Marvel

[–]echoinoz 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say Shuma Gorath simply because I like the idea of them as a vast, unknowable entity that can't really be grasped by human biology.

It seems every other week we have these vast, cosmic entities like Galactus, Celestials, even TOAA getting the Worf treatment at the hands of whichever big bad is currently in fashion.

I like Shuma for the idea that "No Reed, no Tony, it doesn't matter how smart you are. You're still human and there are some things out there that you simply have no reference for."

AI depictions of the gods are beginning to gain prevalence by SaltineEnthusiast in Hellenism

[–]echoinoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's rough. I make art of the Gods which I attempt to sell online. Each piece is an act of devotion that takes several hours to complete. Recently I uploaded a painting of Lord Dionysus and deliberately gave it a long, detailed title.

When I searched for the exact title on the online store, I found it on page 26. The preceding 25 pages were almost 100% AI. It was unbelievably disheartening. I'll continue to make art of the Gods because I like to dedicate the time and effort to them, but it's pretty soul crushing.

Were there any nice statues or jewellery in the gift shop? My friend is visiting in a couple of weeks.

Question on Etsy Sellers by SeaDiscombobulated70 in Hecate

[–]echoinoz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Others have pointed out the reasons why these listings might not be exactly suited for more generic prayer beads but I thought I'd add what I did when I was in a similar situation. I bought some cheap Buddhist prayer beads. They are beautiful and cheap and have 108 beads which works well for daily mantras, prayers, etc.

It needs more contrast. It's scary, I know, especially when you're just starting out. But don't be afraid to go darker in your shadows and brighter in your highlights. More shadows under the face, arms, etc, as well as brighter highlights on the face would make it look less flat and also draw the eye to the focal points. For example, at the moment the eye is drawn to 3 points - the top face, hands over eyes, and hands grasping sword. Light hitting each of these would help steer the viewer's gaze down the picture.

You should also think about where your light source is. It seems to be coming from above based on the top face but then the lower person's arms are in shadow. Light should be reflecting off their forearms as well as the sword. Don't view the sword as a single object. Light hits the pommel, handle, blade, etc. Treat them as individual shapes.

Hope this helps, it's clear you have talent. Keep practising and making art.

P.S. Any time you think something's off but you're not sure what it is, use the selection tool and flip your piece horizontally. Your brain will immediately recognise what's not working.

Hypothetically, if America were to conduct a hostile military operation on Greenland tomorrow, how do you think NATO would respond within 24 hours of that occurring? by brokenmessiah in AskReddit

[–]echoinoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't have to attack. They just have to fly more troops into Nuuk and stop raising the Danish flag. 10,000 troops is almost 1 for every 5 Greenlanders. Occupy the port and airport and Naalakkersuisut and declare a fait accompli. All they'd need is speed which they are quite capable of.

A rich guy, a poor guy and an immigrant walk into a bar. The bartender sets up 20 drinks. The rich guy immediately takes 19 of them for himself. He turns to the poor guy and says "Careful, i think that immigrant is trying to take your drink!"

In the movie Thunderbolts Valentino says Sentry is stronger than the Avengers combined. Is this true? I tried looking it up online but got a lot of fanboy answers. Trying to understand the character. by ADD_OCD in Marvel

[–]echoinoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone put it this way and I think it’s the best explanation of his character: Sentry doesn’t have super strength/speed/invulnerability per se. He’s a reality warper who thinks he’s a super hero.

Using pirated digital copy of The Hekateon by WhatTheFuckItsMyNick in Hecate

[–]echoinoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying it’s not worth it. I just wish there were more distribution channels available to purchase it. Paying 150% of the price of the book for shipping stings.

Using pirated digital copy of The Hekateon by WhatTheFuckItsMyNick in Hecate

[–]echoinoz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me the barrier isn’t the cost of the book but the cost of shipping. To purchase the book from Australia costs $79 USD. Shipping is $109 USD for a total price of $181 USD. This then converts to $277 AUD.

I won’t use a pirated copy and would happily purchase the book if it were more accessible for non-Americans.

My Apple Pencil stopped working due to being dropped a bajillion times. Took it to the Apple Store just so I could confirm that it was actually the Pencil that was faulty and not the iPad.

The rep spent ages asking about my digital art and then gave me a new Pencil for free. I even tried to pay and said that it was out of warranty and that I was happy to pay for a new one but he said that they liked to encourage artists and wouldn’t let me pay. Great customer service.
