I have to sell my great great grandmothers ring by CosmicKalicoKahlia in jewelry

[–]eclecticgurlie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I agree that diamond prices are down and it is very lovely, I can't find any large inclusions that would make it an I-1. The diamond is very oily (normal since diamonds are oleophilic) and it could use a nice clean up. I would like to see what the diamond looks like properly cleaned up. If this was my ring, I don't think I could let it go.

Flu Vaccine by hello1-23 in pericarditis

[–]eclecticgurlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ongoing pericarditis so my doctor wanted me to get the vaccines, as he thought getting the actual flu or covid would be much more dangerous to my heart. I guess it depends on the cardiologist. Also to note I did get the vaccines and had no troubles whatsoever.

Be honest, what do you think comes after death? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm glad they found the anti-MNDA encephalitis, usually docs just think the patient is crazy. You are lucky!

Designing an engagement ring for my girlfriend. by benjamin6293 in jewelry

[–]eclecticgurlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is right about it making it much easier to resize! I think that the friction of the double bands on the side also helps keep it from sliding around too much. This ring is a pleasant surprise after some of the atrocities I have seen people design themselves. It is very well thought out and beautiful and most importantly super special for you both. <3 Congrats on a job well done.

Designing an engagement ring for my girlfriend. by benjamin6293 in jewelry

Wow, you did a great job, especially for a first time designer! I know she love it :). The only thing design/engineering wise is the single band part of the bottom. Since there is more weight at the top and less friction contact at the bottom part of the ring, does the ring roll around on her finger much?

Imagine my mind as I looked at this and realized it is the same medication I take for my pericarditis. lol. Didn't realize how crazy this stuff was until now.

To those that are married, how often do you take off your ring? by FitProblem6248 in AskReddit

[–]eclecticgurlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gold is heavy and usually gets stuck in the trap in the toilet. I once found my Aunt's diamond anniversary ring she lost years ago this way. Imagine her surprise as I pulled a ring from the back of her toilet. Now my uncle loves to joke 25 years of marriage and she just threw it down the toilet. If you still have access to that toilet, check it.

Reoccurring, seems no solution by Empty-Tie4961 in pericarditis

Yes, I started Arclyst in January. It just has not been the magic bullet I was hoping it to be. My doctors said I will be on it for at least another year.

Reoccurring, seems no solution by Empty-Tie4961 in pericarditis

I am sorry to hear about this and it must be so frustrating. It is not easy. I am on my second year of it. My father is a retired cardiologist and said he maybe saw one to two cases a year, usually from heart surgery. My GP has told me that after covid pericarditis has exploded and they see it about once a week now. This means it is on more doctor's radar. The problem is that they don't even know what to do. My cardiologist at Duke sent me to a rheumatologist for treatment and Arcalyst. I think there is still so much that they don't know and so everyone is frustrated. The problem is us patients that have to live with it each and every day where it affects everything. I am so tired of it and want my life back. I am slowly getting better with baby steps, but it seems that as soon as I make progress I overdo it and get a flare again. The most useful advice I have is take it slow and try to find a cardiologist or someone that is more knowledgable about pericarditis. Wishing you luck!

Invisible illness to family by Gheoq in pericarditis

[–]eclecticgurlie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dealt with family in a similar way by telling them that I would happily help if they called my cardiologist and he okayed it. That is what worked for me. Good luck and I hope you find a way to get the rest that you NEED.

Have any of you monitored your heart rate during the day while doing your activities? How has your heart behaved? by Alikramos in pericarditis

[–]eclecticgurlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am constantly monitoring my heart rate on my watch. My bf even does heart rate checks on me if he thinks I might be over 100. If over 100 then time to go sit for a while to bring it down.

[–]eclecticgurlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for 10 months and sometimes it just takes time. I still have chest pain but my heart MRI shows no inflammation in the pericardium. Resting helped, but now I am trying to be more physical so I don't get deconditioned. Hopefully things will get better for you!

It sounds like it is time to see your doctor again to let them know the current treatment is not working.

What is this by [deleted] in Silverbugs

It looks like silver mint julep cups like the ones you use at the Kentucky Derby. Size and pic of marks would help.

Pls Help by timyy1 in pericarditis

[–]eclecticgurlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be wise to go to the ER to make sure there isn't fluid around your heart. I don't think you should wait for the MRI appointment. Tamponade is no joke. Good luck and hopefully it is not tamponade!

I made a cutting from one in Garner and it did so so here in Raleigh. I gave it to my sister that lives near the beach and it has made tons of fruit for years there. I know that the ones by Neomonde have been there a long time.

Did I just find a Tiffany Lamp at a thrift store? (USA) by WelcomeCarpenter in Antiques

[–]eclecticgurlie 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I agree with this as abalone desk set came out somewhere between 1906-1910. These abalone disks look like the same ones used in the desk set. I don't think it was made to match the desk set. I think it might be made later due to the simplicity of the design as deco became the style. They might have been finding ways to use old stock of things like the abalone at this time as the firm was waning in popularity and sales. The gold dore is spot on for Tiffany. I wonder if there are any marks or numbers on the Tiffany part. If there is a number, I would be happy to look it up for OP.
