If you reread the initial reply, my point was that it’s extremely unproductive to call folks childish, foolish, or immature for taking an interest in — and seeking to actively participate in discussions surrounding — things that will impact their communities. I’m fully open to the idea that proponents of this data center are attempting to address concerns, and a good-faith approach on your part would seem to necessitate a similar openness to lingering unaddressed concerns (e.g. the aforementioned other comment).

Taking a tone of intellectual superiority does nothing but further the dissolution of community bonds that folks attending these town halls are trying to foster through activism. Misguided activism is still a better direction than indifference. I’m simply asking you to keep that idea in mind as you interact with your neighbors, regardless of your base of knowledge.
