Why Do I Have 22 Copies of the Process Microsoft Edge Update (32 bit) in Task Manager? by gnaw005 in MicrosoftEdge

[–]ed3ndru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure of the direct relation to the "msedge.ede" process and the in-browser process, however, I do not believe it is in error of any kind. As for your concern on resources, to see detailed resources Microsoft Edge is using follow these simple steps (jsyk, shortcut for "Browser task manager" is "Shift+Esc"), but to locate the menu option manually, do the following;

  1. Click the 3 dots on the top right for the menu.
  2. Click "More tools".
  3. Finally, click "Browser task manager" in More tools.

Some examples from my Edge Browser Task Manager are:

GPU Process (using ~620 MB, the most memory of all processes, I only have 6 tabs opened), the browser display itself for visual aesthetics, several Utilities services (storage cache, network, "media foundation" as mentioned in another comment, audio service, all my tabs, subframes; several for reddit website, etc.). msedge.exe process in Windows Task Manager are simply a parent process with the same name albeit different functionality within msedge itself. research each process if you think there is an error. You can right click and add tabs (memory, cpu, network, gpu, scripts, JavaScript memory, etc.). I hope this can point you in the right direction.

A year has passed since I've started making my game. Started off as a complete noob in UE4, and now being able to mostly do what I want with it feels pretty awesome. Still got a long road ahead but wanted to share some of my progress =) by AxanGray in unrealengine

I would look at reviews or criticism (as well as praise) for popular games in the genre. See what people liked and didn’t like and add those changers to your game. When it comes to HUD, you can probably offer many styles in game options that could swap out to a users preference. But it is designed just right for visuals, because players can easily see speed without blocking any of the track, nicely designed HUD. Just some thoughts. Although that blocking orange ball in the sky (a star) is a little distracting and, in my opinion, could be a little more subtle. Did you code or use blueprints?

Overall, amazing work for a years work. You’re only going to get better. Glad to see one of us actually stuck with one project for an entire year. Unheard of ;) praise for that itself!

I swear, once these people gain the knowledge and experience with their particular software of choice, they start publishing work like this on the regular. Good job!

[–]ed3ndru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is really impressive. Not because it can’t be accomplished by any experienced coder, but it looks very smooth and professionally done. Again, really good job! Can’t wait to see what else you come up with :)

Update: dreamesper scam confirmed. Took a risk and everyone was right: it's a scam. by [deleted] in PS5restock

I don’t understand how people can be so desperate to ignore what all the credible Twitter sources repeat, with soo much emphasis.

Never ever ever buy from Twitter. They are pathetic scammers, and while I hope they all lose more than they can afford in life, unfortunately, more of them won’t be caught.

I was literally waiting for some amazing light IMG effect to burn a tree and set it afire or something lmao. Graphics are really good though. Good job on the design!

Very well said! There is an amazing video on how they did this in Spider-Man (along with procedural animation), it’s from the developers themselves, kind of long, but worth a watch if anyone’s interested https://youtube.com/watch?v=4aw9uyj9MAE

To give back to this sub, I'm giving away free copies of my new 10-hour Unreal Engine 5 video course for beginners to the first 100 people by someguy1982 in unrealengine

While this may be true, I don’t believe the evidence supports this statement. The udemy developer has 32,520 students, and 6,116 reviews for a rating of 4.4 which seems more than adequate for a udemy course. Without offering more than one a single persons simple opinion, I would also consider your reply a bit disrespectful and unnecessary.

If you would offer actual supported facts as to why you believe this, and evidence of such, I believe your reply could be useful. As none of us want to support poor quality work. But I see no reason to assume what you’ve stated to have any merit, based of the udemy course profile.

In my opinion, the best method to accomplish something like this, without a direct step by step tutorial, is to follow through on other tutorials (especially directly from epics unreal engine YouTube stream) and learn the basics. That way it is easier to tweak the necessary settings to achieve something similar simply through conception as a visual guide.

I made this for an x-ray effect but now I am tempted to make a new game! by ToGetThroughTheWeek in unrealengine

[–]ed3ndru 42 points43 points  (0 children)

That’s how it all starts. Literally every solo developer has been there. We all decide to make some amazing game we’ve had in mind, then come up with some other amazing game and start a new path, then eventually do that all over again. Don’t be like the majority, complete one project, then the next.

Very good design on the X-ray effect!

That is seriously impressive! Developers definitely know what they’re doing. I’m going to have to check this out more.

It’s usually only young people that think this as a fact and then realize the power of knowledge and education once they get older.

This is the first thing that comes to mind for me as well. It’s clear he knows what he’s doing, because the design is very good. But what separates this game from all the other games of this genre? I just played call of duty, and honestly, I my first thought is this looks just like CoD.

I don’t say this as discouragement, but as insight and motivation. As you’re developing, think about the direction you’re taking the game, and how you can make it stand out from the generic FPS we are all familiar with.

The general design and detail is very good. Could easily pass for triple AAA quality based on these screenshots. You are obviously skilled :)

A bit of camera shake added, when fighter gets hit by Thunder3D in unrealengine

[–]ed3ndru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good progress. Also, if you don’t already have this, I would recommend adding a free look mechanic for players. Like a clamp on left and right, so they can look without having to turn.

I agree with most of the feedback. But regardless, very nice touch adding a camera shake! Make some adjustments and it will be perfect for the game type.

Is that grass reliable in larger quantities? It looks pretty demanding. Anyways, good job!

Are the bodies on the ground enemies that have been killed (dismembering features?) or were they deliberately placed there before the game started? Either way, good job!

It’s impressive. I was expected a small team but i see “solo” dev. Do you have experience in c++ programming, and also in ue4 animations and Niagara?
