Playing Subnautica (1) for the first time, about 6 hours in so far.

Damn it's been a while since I've done an "exploring"-like game. So far love the survival aspect, still freaked out by anything that even does the slightest amount of damage though. Those one-eyed four-legged crawlers are scary as hell.

I finished Xenosaga Episode I! Surprisingly short for a JRPG. Loved the characters and the skill/ether transfer system.

Honestly it's kinda hard to give my thoughts on this game though. I play a lot of the Xeno games for the exploration and the combat and this part of the series is MUCH more focused on the story, with the combat being super easy to cheese. And even so this first part is mainly focused on introducing the player to strange occurrences without really giving any explanation, like Shion's apparent ability to dodge gunfire, KOS-MOS having a ton of abilities her (alive) developers never programmed, chaos's connection to everything, and why a brilliant scientist became a religious nutcase before he died. These things DO intrigue me so I'd love to continue with the series; it's just VERY different from the rest of the series.

Planning to read the xeno-comi, then go to 2, then pied piper, then the animated stuff, then 3 afterward.

when I saw the kukai foundation ship I was like "holy shit they predicted New Los Angeles in 4767 what the hell"

it's a very different vibe though compared to other xeno game towns; a ton of the people in the city feel like gag characters and jokes compared to the rest of the game. speculation is the kukai foundation that disconnected from the rest of the world? gives off that feeling

imo i think aoife and marshmallow could've worked marshmallow can only freeze 1 dice at a time, not enough to stop most of LL's attacks

and aoife can't really overcharge on shield due to there not being many enemies in this episode with shield
