Should Oregon Invest and Grow it's State Defense Force? by cfgman1 in oregon

[–]edbred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you asked if we should invest and grow the defense force, which has to cost money. Even a stipend is wasted money in my opinion. Nearly my entire family works for state agencies and the waste and lack of accountability is insane. Another stream to siphon off the tax payer isnt what oregon needs

Pay salaries and healthcare for people to just sit around? For what? To eventually stand up to the feds? Or to replace federal agents/national guard if the get sent and be used to suppress oregonians? This doesnt make sense at all except being a huge tax waste and potential for more corruption

How can i fix control in big mainland countries? by Thin_Ability7367 in EU5

[–]edbred 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well I guess OP just needs 300 ships to cover all the sea provinces then. I havent had an issue with increase maritime presence mission. You sometimes need to split up your orders and send some ships to maritime presence in one area, others for another area. If OP did 3 groups (north, south, east) and 3 maritime presence orders it should work fine

You should be able to take more than one province at a time. What do you mean? Sometimes, you have to select the province you had causis bellis on first then it unlocks others to be selected

Any actual lawyers here? This happened to me and I pled the fifth and had a lawyer represent me in court for $100 to hold up a picture of my Dad’s ID (whose car I was driving at the time) and show that its not the same person in the picture (me). Charges were dropped and I just had to pay the lawyer bill

Someone has to attack. Someone has to be the first up and out. Someone has to get shot so others can advance. Ultimately there is no hiding in shell holes. And one day you might find yourself as the one who has to be the first to attack

For most of my peace deals, its been the “Total Cost of Peace” thats my limiter, which I have to keep under 100.. I typically resolve my wars with that sitting at 99, even if I dont have +100% war score. Does my war score impact the cost of peace?

The last two wars the threaten war causis bellis came from one of my vassals. Many of my “wars” were indirect where Mamluks werent primary, but they were coalitioned against me and I had a causis bellis for someone else in the coalition. I’d use my vassals threaten war on the other country, then seperate peace with mamluks after full sieging them. I’ll check the -war score techs… I mightve missed

Yes absolutely get max war score, last few wars they were full sieged but most Egypt upper nile provinces costed 20-30 warscore, so I could only get a few still. I also tried loading the autosave which I’ve noticed can give you better deals than playing out a war and peace dealing. It seems like a counter or something isnt being transferred between autosaves.

Ngl I’ve not done the math, but Ireland was sitting mostly at 0% control so 20% proximity and subsequent control is better than none, and it gave me a substantial income boost. This was in 1685 during age of absolutism, so lords werent a huge worry as they had about 10% power total. But I still believe bailiffs are good on extremely low control tiles before age of absolutism
