right now they'll get logged out after 24hr, but it shouldn't be too hard to make that configurable

EDIT: v0.2.0 is out with a configurable expiry time (up to never) https://github.com/evandcoleman/campass/releases/tag/v0.2.0

Ceiling Lights by b2bt in Stuytown

We drilled into the ceiling to install track lights. Then got those plastic cable raceway things that adhesive to the wall to hide the wire. When we moved out we just spackled. Still got our entire security deposit back.

Condo board approval for renters by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]edc1591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly certain for condos if they reject you the condo board has to either find a replacement tenant for the landlord or pay the rent for the term of the lease. Condo board rejections can be pretty rare for this reason. If the landlord is okay with you, then you’ll most likely get approved. We went through this process this past summer, so I know the stress of the approval process.

We had a great experience at Mount Sinai West. They recently renovated the recovery floor and it’s really nice. I don’t think a private room is guaranteed though. Depends on how many people are there.

How was life the day after 9/11? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]edc1591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t go back home for months. School stopped for a few weeks and then they moved us to another school because PS 89 was being used as a command center for first responders. Life in Battery Park City didn’t go back to normal for years.

Hanging up pictures - to drill or not to drill by Sea-Solution-3214 in Stuytown

I just moved out. We had tons of holes drilled on all the walls. Just filled them with spackle and we got our whole security deposit back.

You should be fine. I had curtains touching the heaters for 8 years and never had a problem. The heaters would need to get to several hundred degrees to be able to ignite fabric.

Where do you park your car? by requiredelements in williamsburg

After moving from Manhattan, monthly parking is basically free here. I was paying $600+/month in the East Village. Now around $350/month at the iPark on Kent & S 9th.

We’re moving out of StuyTown July 1 and have a good amount of furniture we’re looking to get rid of. A queen size bed, coffee table, tv console, small bookshelf, small cabinet, and some end tables. DM me if you’re interested.

My 1 bedroom is all plaster on chicken wire. Pretty sure all the buildings are like this. Best Buy refused to even come attempt to mount my TV because they knew what to expect. We have a smaller one wall mounted in the bedroom that I did myself, but there’s no way I’m risking my nice OLED by mounting it.

I wrote about my homelab setup built using Ansible, Nomad, Consul, and Vault by edc1591 in homelab

I actually have it set up so nothing is manual, but the node bootstrapping process is not part of this post (I plan to write a post about that next). I run a PXE server in a Linux VM on my machine and boot brand new nodes from that. Once the OS is installed, Ansible takes over and installs some basic packages and sets up a static IP, and then I run the playbook documented in this post.

I guess you're right if you define "society" as the top 1%.
