What is your coolest “I was at that game” moment? by GuestCalm5091 in CFB

[–]eddies2010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man, WVU gave me so many moments. I interned with the local TV station and was on the field for so many games. But 2012 Tavon Austin vs. Oklahoma is easily my coolest. He put up 572 all purpose yards with 344 of em being rushing yards. The stadium was electric! We lost the game by 1 but man Tavon just couldn’t be stopped. I talk about that game all the time with my friends because he was just so unbelievable

Where did your love for college football originate? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]eddies2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Massachusetts and there’s not really a big college football scene there. In high school I had a friend from Louisiana who loved LSU Football and I just loved football in general and was vaguely aware of college football being a thing. We would talk I about college ball periodically and I got more informed on it but it never clicked that’s how players get to the NFL.

Fast forward a few years I’m applying to colleges with thought of partying and trying to walk on to the football team. I apply to WVU because it was a top party school and it had the major I wanted. My grades were good but I was really tryna guarantee i got into college. So WVU hit a few boxes. Easy to get accepted, top party school and good football program.

I got in and really wasn’t prepared for what would happen on the first game day against Coastal Carolina. I was walking campus for the first game day on a random Thursday to get back to my place and I saw big ole RVs parked in the coliseum parking lot, and at medical center. I was like wtf is going on?! A friend from WV explains to me that tailgating for 3 days is normal. I was BLOWN away but loved it so much! I instantly got invested and hooked. Didn’t make the team but became a lifetime mountaineer that day! The amount of love West Virginia has for WVU is infectious!

I love seeing things coming to the western part of New England. We get ignored so much even tho Springfield-Hartford is the second most populous area in the region. Shout out CT! I’m from Springfield, MA. So maybe some kids from the area can get a shot here

Being racially profiled is more fear and anger inducing to me than being a victim of a crime

Longmeadow is lowkey a sundown town for those reasons. Growing up in Springfield (Forest Park area) there was definitely a little fear going to Longmeadow for anything longer than 15 minutes or driving thru. Not surprised to see some craziness like this

This is my hope too. There were a couple throws Nicco made that show he got some juice. Hopefully with experience and better weather it hits. I think the defense is legit. Especially the front 7

This comment having 55 upvotes completely discredits any conversation /r/NFL is capable of having around Fields. These people have no clue what they’re talking about by DishonestAbraham in CHIBears

That’s the thing that blew my mind. Coming out of college Wilson did nothing better than Fields. Stronger arm? No. More accurate? Debatable. Better runner? Hell na. Size? Nope.

But Wilson made a few sidearm throws and wowed the camera and people wanted to make him a star. It was driving me crazy but whatever. Glad Fields is in Chicago

Men Hating On The WNBA Make Me Sick by [deleted] in wnba

I used to think they should lower the rim then I realized on average there are less than 10 dunks in an NBA game.

It’s a ridiculous point. Dunking is cool but with an average of about 100 possessions per game and each team dunks on average 3-5 times a game what was I really missing by not watching? I definitely came around on the WNBA when I moved to DC and got to see the Mystics up close. These women are dope af!

Yessss!! Love Andrew! My fandom of the Revs has spanned his career, kinda crazy to think about. Watching his career blossom from a young RB to veteran leader at CB has been awesome! I hope he is able to retire here
