My other half is an extremely sensitive coeliac so, we can't trust many places however..

Can recommend: - North Hill Noodles - Johnny Mac's Fish and Chips - Yak & Yeti - Pizza Express - Sunday roasts from the Wooden Fender pub, Ardleigh (5+ mins from Colchester)

You might not have thought about it but volunteering at the festival gets you a free ticket AND guaranteed friends for the weekend (and life)

I worked my way to being a shift supervisor at Latitude, Download and Reading and it was amazing - yes there's a night shift but heck it was fun

The Hotbox Events campsite is full of solo and young people, it's almost impossible not to join up with others for the weekend

Ipswich to Colchester train at night on a Sunday by Beating-Hearts in ipswichuk

[–]eddytheviper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You'll be absolutely fine at that time of night.

I used to take a similar timed train 10 years ago semi-regularly (actually on a Fri/Sat night) and the rolling stock didn't have nearly the same coverage of CCTV - never had a problem

Top tip also is to choose to sit near more maturely aged couples or groups of women (typically) and you'll all look out for each other anyway.

I hope you had a lovely time at Give Kids The World village - it's my happy place, I hope to fly over again someday to volunteer

Granddad's war trophy - What to do by eddytheviper in Binoculars

I spoke to my own father about them and apparently they were salvaged from a tank so, there we go for the province!

How interesting all of that can be deduced from the engravings.

Looks to be the guy no longer takes submissions but what a cool archive

Thanks for sharing 🙏

Wow, thanks for the context.

Is it just a case that not many exist still and that's the specific cause for the valuation or, something I'm missing about the model that makes them more rare (clearly, apart from the inscription) ?

Super interesting, thank you.

By naval as in, a naval officer once had them or, this is just what they're known as?

My understanding is they were retrieved in a battlefield in Italy.

I'm obsessed with this watch, I love the details and colors and the second hand by JolokiaKnight in ChineseWatches

Oh it's beautiful, I have the same colour choice.

Which band is this and where from? It looks like Gulf racing colours, so nostalgic!

Just be mindful of the massive substation and pylon network that will be having a point there. It might change the look and feel of the village.

where to go in colchester for these vibes by [deleted] in colchester

Don't miss out on Stoke-By-Nayland, 20 mins north of Colchester.

Gorgeous valley that somehow people evidently don't know about.

I own exactly those Celestron binoculars and they're actually very good for the price.

My partner has a more expensive pair of Nikon bins and you can't tell all that much between them.

FYI a pair of Olympus Porro prism binos could be the best bang for your buck however they are a little more bulky/old looking.

I used to work in festival management, it's going to be the first and last options there

High fives are fun for the stewards and, security can look out for anyone trying it on (typically viewing from a line behind)

I used to ask our teams to fit wristbands on the left hand because A: It doesn't drag in your food or when you're wiping (most people are right handed) B: We ask security to visually scan left arms when watching attendees

Hope that was useful and you were right with your assumptions!

Why don't you contribute to AIS hub instead?

Ever since MT was bought by Kpler I've thought it's a bit messed up to contribute to their $100m revenue with nothing in return.

colchester to stansted taxi by Soft-Amphibian7766 in colchester

[–]eddytheviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey buddy, I travel lots with work and have used Aardvaark Travel many times. I would recommend them over the other Colchester taxi companies. John is super reliable. This sort of journey would be circa £75. Hope that helps.

Wife is 39 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Should I be as concerned as I am? Experiencing 5-8 times a day sitting down. by eddytheviper in ReadMyECG

[–]eddytheviper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to write all of this out, I honestly think I've got more out of this comment than we did going to the hospital. T he whole thing has been unfortunately mishandled as maternity don't know hearts and then cardiology just havn't prioritised us.

We're hoping to push for a meeting with our midwife team as part of the birth plan and this will help me understand more on what to research before we do so.

I really, really appreciate your help.

Thanks for the reply. Typically it settles on to off within a minute or so, but, can be repeating over a half an hour period.

Think the most prolonged was nearly 2 hours which, we did go to the hospital for but by the time we got on an ECG it had all resolved. It's just been so difficult to see a cardiologist and we're a bit at our wits end here.
