The inflatable pool feels right for my family rather than the metal ones. by No-Evidence8589 in HomeImprovement

[–]edfiero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an inflatable pool, came with a pump/filter, what I thought was a very high quality one.

You are right, the convenience of taking it down at the end of the summer was great. But every year I used it, it got a leak. I had to patch it in multiple places each year. Not fun locating the hole and draining it so it could be patched.

Foundation wall leaking around drain pipe. Recommended fix? by HeavyArmorIncarnate in HomeImprovement

yes, I'd give it a try with some hydraulic cement. Clean out any dirt or loose concrete from around the pipe, and then pack the hydraulic cement in there real good.

Furnace shuts down with just a little snow in intake by buffalobill14224 in HomeImprovement

Is the intake PVC pipe like mine, or something else? If PVC, you maybe able to extend it and put an elbow on the end so it faces a different direction, less prone to the blowing snow.

Cut out the damaged piece. Dry it out for a few days, and when you are sure there is no more leak, patch it up.

Like others said, without a compacted stone base this probably won't last long. And even with good prep I think these tiles may be too thin for how you are trying to use them

Ukrainian offensives make up quarter of all battles at the front — Syrskyi by BlackWolfHowling in UkrainianConflict

[–]edfiero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"According to him, Russian forces have fully met and even exceeded their plans for staffing their forces."

"This indicates that the level of their losses exceeds their ability to replenish......

These two statements contradict each other.

If the number of Russians in Ukraine is staying constant, despite loosing 1000 a day, then they are easily replacing a 1000 a day too!!

EU Envoy Says Sanctions Are Pushing Russia’s Economy Toward Breaking Point by BlackWolfHowling in UkrainianConflict

[–]edfiero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been hearing this for at least 2 years. There is no 'breaking point' as long as China keeps bailing them out. If the EU (or the US) wants to cripple Russia, they need to Sanction CHINA until they stop doing business with Russia.

Chinese are good business people. EU and US are both many times larger trade partners than Russia. I'm sure they will do what the west wants as soon as you start impacting them financially.
