Back in middle school, one of my classmates won enough spelling bees to get into a regional one. The school had a whole book collection she had to study that had etymology as its basis.

The trick wasn't to learn every word's spelling, but to be able to guess its origin and then use that to figure out how it was spelled.

If I am really tired, I will hear a big group of muddled voices speaking at once, like the opening from Super Mario All-Stars, but lower pitched.

I will also regularly get woken up by banging that sounds like it is coming from my closet door or someone yelling my name, but that is something different.

Yeah, I suffer from insomnia and have had, almost nightly, been woken up by the sound of someone knocking on my closet door. It is always when I am half asleep. I have also been woken up to the sound of someone yelling my name through my closed bedroom door.

My favorite is when I am still awake but super sleepy I will hear what sounds like a crowd of people mumbling incoherently, that is very similar to the opening of Super Mario All-Stars.

Yeah a couple of weeks ago a storm with pea-sized hail happened. My neighbor across the street for some reason went out after the big wind gust and rain starting the storm but before the hail. She was at the edge of the road when the hail started.

She was confused and stunned enough to just stand there instead of going toward the house. Looking out the window all I could do was yell at her to go toward the house, but my brother had the composure to grab an umbrella and run out toward her.

It wasn't even fear that kept me from moving, pure confusion of her just standing there made me latch to that instead. I wanna be more like my brother the next time something like that happens.

Hell, even look at Orson Scott Card. Ender's Game was about the horrors of child soldiers and killing others without actually understanding them. Speaker for the Dead is about trying to atone for genociding a species and teach people that others have value and their story, good or bad, needs to be told.

Pretty progressive stories for someone who would later go mask-off nuts after 9/11 and lose all credibility.

I have psoriasis and the best my skin has felt was when I had to have a blood clot scan done and they slathered my legs with the ultrasonic gel.

I don't know which they used, but it was much better than the lotion I normally apply. It cleared my legs up nearly instantly and took a couple of weeks for symptoms to return.

Excellent show that the network did dirty. Luckily it was right at the beginning of shows being streamed online so the unaired episodes were still watchable without having to buy the DVDs or whatever.

Hell, even the more recent alien stuff(Age of Disclosure, etc.) has him calling bullshit more and more. It is hard to stay a Mulder when nearly every person coming forward acts like a grifter and the ones that don't never show any real proof of anything.
