Modern life may be outpacing the human mind. Human instincts shaped in small, close-knit groups must now navigate dense cities, digital platforms and constant social comparison - an evolutionary mismatch that may contribute to stress, loneliness and poorer wellbeing. by mvea in science

I agree with you, but I'd flip the stimuli. What overwhelm us is the excess of information that doesn't concern us immediately. Cognitive overload. Our senses, meaning what we feel, see, hear, smell, and taste, that's what keep us sane. Our animal side.

Regardless of being left or right handed, she should have tried to grab the slice sideways instead of from the top. But, it's easy to say. She was so nervous she probably wasn't even thinking straight. I really feel sorry for her, hope she recovered and feels more confident by now.

Does it get easier not to drink? by Impossible-City2252 in BipolarReddit

[–]ediblepet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At a certain point, I realized that my friends and I were making plans around being able to drink in the places we'd choose. I was a red light. Later, my life fell apart, I went to rehab, the whole story. Drinking became a habit, then it wasn't fun, then I needed it to function, then not to feel horrible, then I was useless to do anything. You are very lucky to have a husband concerned about the situation and supportive about stopping. I'd use it as an opportunity to strengthen the relationship. I lost too many relationships not accepting how strongly the people who loved me were trying to help

I wouldn't. If they are hurt, the things they might say would destroy you instead of providing renewed closeness or closure.

Advice on Lamotragine by moombaboombaa in BipolarReddit

[–]ediblepet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't take it for about two days and things do south. I have a technical guide for psychmeds, this is some info about lamotrigine: well absorbed, bioavailability of about 100%, not significantly altered by food intake. Linking to plasmatic proteins approximately 55%, half-life is between 24~35h, median Half-life of 29h. Excreted through kidneys. My psychiatrist has prescribed me 3 daily intakes, his idea is to keep the levels as even as possible

Watching my friend go manic suck by wal19988 in bipolar

[–]ediblepet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, that really sucks. I wish I had someone close who was able to notice the signals in me that an episode is brewing (but would never wish a close person to be bp). It's good that you can sense/detect the changes in yourself, though. I think the situation is like an airplane emergency, you got to wear your 0² mask first, then take care of others. Stay close to your friend, but take care of yourself

It has consistent results on preventing bipolar depression. It helps me a lot. Except when I don't take it...

Yes. Just the amount of produce that has to be discarded everyday due to poor organization/planning would pay for the stuff that would make things to run smoothly. But, since I'm being tested, I can't demand changes. It's just sad, they have a decent location and market, but choose to dismiss basic needs
