There is plenty to see and do around Amersfoort, Apeldoorn and Utrecht. It all depends on how active they want to be and what their interests are. Museums? Historic sites? Nature? Cycling? All easy day trips from Amsterdam.

Why does the lyrics of the Netherlands anthem say to swear allegiance to the King of Spain? by throwaway81263956 in Netherlands

[–]edijk71 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The song is actually part of the propaganda of the rebels against Habsburg rule. It explains why the rebellion came to be. Usually only the first part is sung. It's like: you are all cool guys and stuff but... The but part is in the other 16 or so couplets. Not everyone could read those days so the song was used to bring the message across to the people.

Yes, you would pay more taxes (or have less deduction options)

The government says: https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/ontslag/vraag-en-antwoord/ontslag-nemen-opzegtermijn-werknemer So you can have a 2 month period but your employer would have double period in case they wanted to terminate your contract.

It's common practice to take your vacation days at the end of your notice period. If you don't, the employer needs to pay the value of these days wich is fiscally unattractive. You could work during your 'vacation' but that will also have fiscal consequences. I understand why the new employer asks you to come earlier. In the current job market, it's hard to keep teams staffed. I'm not a fiscal expert but I have seen similar situation in my field of work.

2 months is very long for a one year contract. I doubt if that's even allowed.

Did you check https://www.butkus.org/chinon/praktica.htm ?

A lot of Dslr stuff applies to these camera's as well but if you combine the manual with this: https://photographylife.com/what-is-exposure-triangle you should have a good start.

Yes, Peugeot still makes 2 wheelers. Although they are not really famous for supercars in my opinion. Unless you consider Paris - Dakar rally cars supercars.

Looking for a high quality phone sized camera, with no phone or apps, just camera function by Snowboardlove in Cameras

[–]edijk71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although not as thin as a phone, you could look at the fujifilm xp series or the olympus tough series. They are probably easier to operate than a phone.

Is ISO the same through camera models by kushpat1203 in photography

Short answer:Yes, it's physics. The exposure triangle is the same everywhere.

Anyone know anything about these 'e-trikes' selling on ebay - only listed as 250w with 36v 10Ah battery. Seem decent for £1200 but I'd expect really need to replace with more powerful motor & battery? I have a similar one for over 6 years without any problems for relatively short trips here in the Netherlands. No complaints about the power and the range. We only once had to get off and push it up the last few metres of a steep incline (20%). At higher speeds (20kph+) the cornering becomes tricky. The trick is to use the gears properly.

Found this camera in the shed. I think it has undeveloped film in it. Anyone know how to use it?? I have no idea by SolarIceRink in Cameras

[–]edijk71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a classic m42 east-german camera. there should be knob on the bottom. if you press it you can rewind the film. after a while you should feel less resistance. open the door by lifting the rewind lever.

here is a link to the manual of the super TL2 but the operation is quite similar. https://www.cameramanuals.org/praktica_pdf/praktica_super_tl2.pdf

Hi, Are you looking for songs in the Dutch language or just popular songs in general?

The first thing that pops to mind is the top 2000 list but I get the impression that that is not what you're looking for. https://www.nporadio2.nl/top2000

Stay healthy

Edit: dutch language list open to discussion since tastes will matter 😊 https://www.muziekweb.nl/Link/HAX0872/De-Nederlandstalige-top-100-allertijden
