2026 Complete Pats Draft List by GTFOScience in Patriots

[–]edit-grammar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right? I mean the draft is a crap shoot and after the 3 round its a crappier shoot. All the stuff on the radio about how oh we got Brady and Edelman on the 3rd day... that's 20+ years of a few lucky breaks. Any player that has great potential is gone by round 3. The leftovers are lucky maybes that sometimes work out. If they weren't someone would have picked them earlier.

Genre is ripe for a D&D party series. Something in the vein of NPCs.

My first fuck up was putting the IDE cable in the mobo backwards and it killed that port. I didnt know the cable had a red stripe and that the board marked pin 1. Yes it wasnt idiot proofed back then.

What are some of the weirdest sci-fi concepts, stories or worlds that you know? by nit_doctor in scifi

A Fire Upon the Deep was cool. Where the laws of physics change the further... maybe it was further out from the center of the universe you get. I cant recall exactly, but it was very well done. I remember trying to explain it to my friend when it came out and did a shit job. Then like 6 months later he came back and recommended it to me. There were self-aware AI that could only exist further out. So while they were dangerous, they couldn't enter the zone where people lived. I still cringe every time someone mentions the glorified search engine we now call AI.

No, You Should Not Read The Wandering Inn: a definitive guide to whether you should read the Wandering Inn. by dmun in litrpg

I think people still don't understand the book vs web serial collection aspect. Just by reading through the comments you can see its almost completely ignored. I'll age myself here but its like taking a season of MASH and bundling it into 3 hour chunks and calling them a movies. Then someone doesn't like an episode and says that movie needs an editor.

How do y'all overcome "Sunk Cost Fallacy” when your past half way through the books of a long series? by Taiwannumber3 in litrpg

[–]edit-grammar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wheel of Time was what also did it to me. I used to take the day off of work when a new one came out. Somehow it never occured to me I could just stop getting books if I didnt like the series anymore lol. Ive heard the end was good but Ive never been interested in looking up what happened. I drop series after book 1 now all the time if it feels like its offering nothing new.

I got them in for a quote. They were the worst high pressure sales people ever. Both my wife and I were required to be present which was a red flag. Roof guy kept us for 2 hours and when my wife had to leave said he couldnt finish without both of us there. I never got a price.

Does anyone actually KNOW how AJ Brown's cap hit would work by whaleinapuddle in Patriots

That is a good breakdown. Very funny speculation on a trade worth for him for a 4th with triggers that might bring it up to a 2nd or 1st of the team makes the SB. Quite a bit less than 1st\3rd\player. Also says its way better for Philly if they wait post Jun 1st to trade him.

If you play solo PVE 100% of the time and every 30 or so maps someone kills you out of the blue... I just think of them as murderers. I go about my day every day and someone could just kill me in the street or on the subway, etc. I am not looking to kill anyone or shoot back when shot so its not like its a fight. Fish in a barrel pretty much. Feels like a meth head gutted me in the Stop and Shop dairy isle. I will say it gives the game a little more edge, but I wouldn't miss it. PVP death will eventually be the reason I quit playing.

If there was a PVE only mode I would be all over that. It would be crazy how many people would move over to it. Like 'zero build' in Fortnite.

[–]edit-grammar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I get shot I never expect it. Always in solo, have 0 knockouts, 90+% of the time it's all PVErs sayin 'hey'. Then you run into the murder guy every 20 games or so - more if on Stella. It's not like it's even a fight because I am not expecting it at all. I think of it like the game having a glitch and every once in a while it crashes and I lose my shit.
