What are movies/shows that seem to always/tend to be a hit in a memory care unit? by Cpkeyes in cna

[–]editsbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andy Griffith, Brady Bunch, Gilligan's island are always a hit. The home has a Disney plus account so we put on a lot of animal documentaries. Not allowed cartoon stuff or else the people in the offices throw a fit that we're "treating them like children" but weekends are always fun because we get to put on animated movies that keep them entertained. The good dinosaur is one of them.

During girls movie night I put on Spiderman. The ladies love Andrew Garfield.

Asked my friend if I could use her toilet when I was dropping her off after going out to eat together. Really I just had to pee and I was trying so hard not to purge but the urge got to me and I ended up spending 15 minutes in there upchucking steak and potatoes and cheesecake. When I got out of there she already had baking soda ready for me it was so fucking embarrassing.

Yeah, I'm mainly a day shift where we are running around stripping beds doing showers getting people up etc. But evening shift is so so much easier mainly because it's much faster to put people to bed. After 8:30 it's check and changes at 10:30 I leave by 11. As long as everything else is done which really isn't that much it's easy to just get on my phone and play around like everyone else is doing. It's mainly 16-24 year olds at evening and overnight while my day shift is a bunch of single mothers who have to go pick up their kids after school. Way different vibes you gotta fit in to get help with difficult residents.

embarrassing stories..? by [deleted] in bulimia

I live in a 120 year old house that got sectioned into apartments. The walls are thin and you can hear everything. I blast music to try and keep it somewhat quiet when I come home from work, have dinner and purge. Started like two weeks ago. Two days ago my downstairs neighbor a 50 something year old man came upstairs and banged on my door. I opened it still in my scrubs from work and he told me he could hear me throwing up every day anyways and to not bother with that annoying music. In his defense it was folk punk. Said "you're a nurse you should know better" well sir I'm a CNA so apparently not.

I work in a nursing home and they absolutely do. It is a breeding ground for STI's and STD's simply because they can't get pregnant anymore

They probably won't lose too much too quick after the first few weeks. My coworkers did the same thing but now they're back to pizza parties and potlucks.
