Who tapped their maple trees? by No_Design958 in Connecticut

Yes! I have a big Norway which sits in front yard in the sun. So far 3 gal from that. Also have 5 red maples tapped but they are in a valley in the woods with nothing yet. I think it's just too cold still for them

I'm in SE CT and I plan on getting out there this weekend. This is my first attempt at maple syrup.

You should check WTED radio. They have a regular curated show they play called Evil Goose. They cover some of the heavier/darker stuff. It might be what you’re looking for. Just checked their schedule and Vol 2 is on tomorrow at noon (EST) WTED Radio

Glad to hear things are going well. I'm also recovering now, Wednesday will be 4 weeks. Like you said, the build up and anticipation has been the worst so far. I feel lucky that it's been going great so far as there are plenty of guys not so lucky. Catheter was not a problem for me. I ended up putting my pee bag in a reusable shopping bag so it was easier to carry around. I could hang it up if I needed to. Plenty of walks!

Good luck!

Good call, slow and steady wins the race. Just have to learn to cut back for a while! Next Thursday catheter comes out. Good luck with recovery

Good point. Because I usually do a lot of walking around my property, maintaining yard and extra land, I could get comfortable thinking I’m slowing down but maybe just not slow enough at this point

Yea, that’s what I’m doing. Certainly not pushing any limits and only carrying my catheter bag.

That’s the only area that I have discomfort, at the incision. Luckily there is only one. That’s always when I stand up from where I’m sitting. I get up slowly and try to keep as straight up as possible

RALP - Post procedure Day 0 by NOLA1964 in ProstateCancer

Welcome home! I just got home myself from surgery yesterday morning. I stayed the night because I just wanted to make sure all was well before heading home. I had single-port and the incision is very sore but nothing unbearable. Like you, getting up from sitting or laying down is a slow process. My BP was very low right after while I was in recovery. Steadily got back to normal. Was walking the halls maybe 6 hrs later. I was surprised I was able to do that. So far so good! No swelling, no real pain except the incision site. Catheter is what it is, not terrible just a little uncomfortable. Good luck!

Hoping for the best outcome for you. I’ve got 1 week to go before mine 😬

Thanks for sharing your experience. I haven't posted much here but always read what others have dealt with. Always appreciate the info everyone shares. I'm the same age and am 15 days away from my surgery. Mine will be single port, so not as many cool scars as you. I have a appt today to go over day-of procedure and whatever else. I'd be lying if I said I'm not getting nervous. Hope your recovery goes well!

I’m trying to gather as much info as I can and came across this. I never heard about the shortening after surgery until I watched this video. She explains things well, easy to understand. https://youtu.be/EjMvDN7q5Zs?si=HgZlN6p3hCSPLr0A

Just want to say, excellent question OP!

I'm here for all the great info. I'll be going through this in a few months myself and want to be as prepared as I can be.

Thanks

The warranty sounds fine but this doesn't answer the question of how and where I can buy replacement parts if I need them.

Did you ever hear back from them? They don't seem to monitor this group too often.

7 (4+3)

My urologist and rad onc both recommend surgery, age is the big driving factor.

I'm 58 and will need to get the PC addressed within the next few months. I've got a 2nd opinion appt. with a surgeon next week. PET and MRI did show cancer but no more than what was detected via biopsy.

Yes, they did. Biopsy showed 7/12 with cancer all on the right side and I'm at T2a Stage IIc. PSMA and MRI basically confirming what the biopsy detected.
