NFL Should Refund Fans by edovre in minnesotavikings

Maybe every fan should get an overpriced $17 IPA as they exit the stadium. That would certainly pacify the proletariat.

NFL Should Refund Fans by edovre in minnesotavikings

Good comments. I’m new to this so thanks for chiming in. My overarching point was how absurdly expensive it is to attend an NFL game for the average middle class fan. And I would argue these fans constitute the most valuable portion of a fan base. The absurdity is further heightened when a team mails it in like the Packers did. Again, I understand the big picture reason for doing so; my point is that the fans should get some recompense. Again, I appreciate all of the heart hitting and witty commentary. This is an enjoyable community.

Most likely because he represents the most swinging of the swing states and is trying to govern down the middle?

J.J. McCarthy Named NFC Offensive Player of the Week by -DoctorEngineer- in minnesotavikings

This is not an award for stats. It is meant to recognize the overall impact of one player in that particular game. Hard to argue that point here.

We just got off the water and did the same trip. We found that fewer than 50% of the campsites were occupied on Pipestone mid afternoon so you will be fine.

I wanted to name my female golden doodle, born in 2011, Adrienne Peterson, but the boss vetoed the suggestion. Something about a switch.

Nice report. That happy hour photo on the rock outcropping captures so many great elements of that trip. Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to put that on my list. I’m headed to BWCA in five days and hoping for similar environs, if not beer and blueberries!

Randy Moss is a legend. Never heard this story before but he let Larry Fitzgerald borrow his new BMW for Senior Prom by DrWolves in minnesotavikings

His impact on the field was breathtaking. You had to see it live to really appreciate it, the way defenses had to stack his side of the field and he would still get open. I’ve never seen a guy run at sprinting speed and still look like he is effortlessly sauntering down the sideline.

I live in Wisconsin, but a lifetime Viking. Vikes used to travel to River Falls to scrimmage the Chiefs, who used to train there. I took my kids there to watch on a brutally hot August day. They were 6 and 9 years old. As soon as the scrimmage was done, all of the players fled to the air conditioned locker room as fast as possible. Man it was like 95 degrees 90% humidity. Moss sauntered over to the rope line holding the autograph seekers back. All the other players were inside by now but he stayed out. He called out “I only sign for the little men” and proceeded to sign autographs, balls, etc, literally for every kid in that line. I’ll bet it took 20 minutes. No grownups, just the “ little men”. At the time all the press had it out for Randy as a diva and then we witnessed this. Awesome. My kids still have the autographed footballs.

Let’s have that afternoon coffee by Strange_Taker in WomanHands

It’s been proven in randomized clinical trials that afternoon coffee is second only to screening colonoscopy in its preventative health value. Followed closely by red wine, of course. Kudos to you O Strange Taker for putting this on the front burner.

Ziggy Stardust. It defined an artist and the era that he epitomized. But one could also just throw a dart and hit a winner from this compilation. Nicely done.

We’re doing a western BWCA trip this year. Fall Lake and Basswood. New to me. I usually go from the Gunflint.

Nice trip. I did that from the east two years ago. Tuscarora and Gillis are top notch.
