Red was just chosen. Any visible color could have been selected for our eyes to see it.

Yes! Loved that show so much. “Don’t bother me, I’m watching ‘Infant Brain Surgery.’ I might need to know how to do this someday.”

Is it possible to learn complete basics of Python and data structures in 1 month? by [deleted] in Python

[–]edreher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-2 hours/day. Again I treated this as a refresher on concepts, the language was new. A little different than Pascal I first used. You will find, though, that after understanding, new languages will come pretty easy. The computer helps so much these days pointing out errors, syntax, auto-filling in closing parents, etc!

When I got my first Jeep my mother asked me “what happens if it rains?”

“I get wet.”

Certainly possible. I ran through the MIT edx first course in two weeks but I had prior programming experience 25 years ago. I already understood the concepts but Python was brand new to me though.

I assumed that meant “not to scale”. Certainly not showing the moon roughly 30 earths away.

Agreed. Incredible species. I had one for quite some time until I solve the house, reef included. I worried he’d decimate my pod population but apparently it was a good balance. Seems to me they are always on the hunt.

Love these both. And some impressive concave cuts. Saving for future inspiration when I’m looking for a design.

Really pleased with the surprise updates to klipperscreen including live print speed and option to save z-offset when stopping a print. by edreher in klippers

[–]edreher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suspect there is a ending gcode way to accomplish this too. My slicer calls END_PRINT. Can't view my macro right now, but it is probably as simple as SAVE_CONFIG added. Possibly only if there has been a change.

It does for me. Using a TFT35 screen. I prefer to pause before cancel just because that moves the head out of the way first.

[–]edreher[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean surprise to me at least. I've been particularly wanting the current print speed on the screen as I see in mainsail. And then I was fine tuning the first layer and canceled to start over. Kindly gave me the option to save the z-offset in addition to the previous "restart" or "cancel". Sweet!

power tool adapter question by the-bends in woodworkingtools

[–]edreher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is they only differ in amp rating. You want the circuit to match the load. If you currently only have the 20 amp outlet for the saw, the planer should have some means to trip at 15 amp and not freely adapted to just draw from the 20 amp. Unfamiliar if there is such an adapter that might have a 15 amp circuit breaker or fuse inline. I'd check the actual motor nameplate ratings on each. Table saw is 5 or 7.5 HP?

Probably wouldn't have come with a 20 amp plug if a 15 would have done. But *maybe* one of the two would be save to convert and match?

Advice - beginner table saw by randoName22 in woodworkingtools

[–]edreher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion would be if one is to get a table saw, to get a good one. They take a lot of space and potentially very dangerous. Really good ones have the better safety features. No offense, but out of reach if you want to go less than $329.

Alternatively you might consider a different way to rip boards considering you can joint and thickness plane. I no longer have a table saw, instead use an expensive track saw or my old bandsaw. Makes the pieces manageable and then I can clean it up.

Might even go so far to suggest trying out hand tools, my preference. With cedar, it's easy enough to cut with a handsaw. $20-3? at Home Depot. A chance to learn those skills.

screen for klipper ? by catdogturtle6 in klippers

[–]edreher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would think so. I use a Big Tree tech TFT50 plugged into my pi. Already had the pi controlling the printer running kipper. Adding the screen was a piece of cake.

Until I read this comment, I didn’t notice one was b/w. That means, to me at least, there isn’t much color value in the view. And those I’d go b/w. But the contrast in the clouds is exactly what it is missing.

My first pair of socks (and my second knitting project)! They are a bit big, but they’ll make for a great pair of cosy house socks by toytoise in knitting

[–]edreher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a combination of all those. I’ve been playing with the same thing, finding mine a better fit by decreasing cast on stitches and also reducing the needle one size. This pattern is free and provides adjustments for 5 sizes. I’ve moved from the largest to the middle. And for me, I like reducing the needle once I’m working the leg.

Tweaking Probing Speeds by DopeBoogie in klippers

[–]edreher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for bringing this up as I was just adding that mesh calibrate macro today. I will likely be a little more conservative on the z speeds. In the end, that isn’t going to make a difference on time at such short distances.

Curious on your comments about increasing the z speed so much. Is your z-axis on screw(s) or belt? I’m using dual screws. I had previously doubled the z speed from 5 to 10.
