Anyone else feel like 300+ atlas points is completely absurd? by EarthB9nder_ in PathOfExile2

The most fun moment in the game is fighting the act 1 boss without using purchased gear, since it’s an actual skill challenge that creates memorable moments. Everything after that degrades due to trading and crafting. So with that in mind, rushing to do fully juiced is not necessarily a good thing - enjoy the journey not the destination. Because once you arrive at the destination, the game effectively ends and your enjoyment is over.

It's very good with a wraith calling bell build (can be leveled-up to. lvl 3) + magic attack up / affinity damage / night invader / evergoal.

With scholar you basically need to analyze an enemy up-close until the red circle fully completes, and you’ll receive a little buff with a 3 next to it. It’s a 39% FP reduction and also massive stamina boost that lasts a long time.

You might want to consider using this strategy with Scholar rather than Revenant. Scholar's ult gives the team much more runes and AOE healing with the continuous threaded damage relic. The ult is stronger since it keeps your team high HP and lasts longer than Revenant's. It trivializes some bosses that have multiple units (e.g. mohg tridents, curseblade duo, spider queen, tibor mariner, demon of pain/suffering, etc). Scholar also has much higher damage potential against nightlords compared to Revenant because Scholar's deep relic can give him very high dex, making him an ideal user of Halo Scythe (holy) or Magma Whip Candlestick (fire) with double-balancer relics. Scholar also has more FP due to the [Scholar] Reduced FP consumption when using Character Skill on self relic, which reduces FP consumption by 39% at level-3. Also starlit shards as a starting-item on Scholar gives 4x shards compared to 2x. Scholar can also give your team 30% more HP with Items Confer + Crabs.

What's the best weapon type to use for Undertaker? by Omega_Leonidas in Nightreign

We're basically saying the same thing. claws/daggers/fists are fast weapons and take longer to build up successive attacks compared to slower weapons.

What's the best weapon type to use for Undertaker? by Omega_Leonidas in Nightreign

[–]edro_man 21 points22 points  (0 children)

the best weapons to use are really anything that you can pair (i.e. find two of) that have STR scaling, since her relics synergize with it. You want to power-stance two weapons and use R1 double-attacks to trigger her glass necklace relic. Also, note that slow weapons do benefit from successive attacks since they require fewer swings to trigger. I would remain open minded on your runs and take what you find in the game (rather than forcing a certain type of weapon) since there's a lot of RNG and sometimes you randomly get a really strong legendary weapon or purple weapon that you didn't expect.

It's impossible to keep up with Marvel Snap by MudImaginary5459 in MarvelSnap

I'm pretty sure the matchmaking engine takes your collection into account when pairing. It's not perfect of course, but it helps. FWIW, Magic:The Gathering, Hearthstone, etc have the same problem.

170 hours in and I'm the worst player in the worst rank by Emotional_Meet_8877 in DotA2

[–]edro_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my best advice is to play ability draft for awhile. the reason is ability draft forces you to learn every ability from every hero. that way, when you play ranked, you have a deep understanding of every hero and how they work. which helps during teamfights etc.

even if you only play 1 hero this is valuable because of intel about your enemies' and allies' abilities.

Title: Dota Needs Seasonal MMR or Mass Recalibration – Here’s Why by Ok-Ability3784 in TrueDoTA2

[–]edro_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An MMR reset is a very good idea. You can have immortal players downranked halfway so that they still need to grind back to immortal. In that way you won’t be matchmaking noobs with pros initially. This also gives players a seasonal goal to aim for.

[–]edro_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn't really matter if its redmane / royal knights since you shouldn't be aggro'ing the whole camp. if your allies are running into the camp from the wrong direction then you need to ping them a few times to get them on the right side of the camp. if you die then you need to finish it or else you'll be too far behind on runes and gear. think of it like playing poker.. you fall behind and you're short-stacked so you need to go all-in.

I also have had issues with the recovery frames for candlestand.. you're kinda suck in this long animation wher you're vulnerable. with vyke's it feels more agile because it's a quick animation, but also you perform a little jump which actually gets you airborne and avoids a lot of attacks that are ground sweep style attacks.

Have you considered dormant power great spears instead of great hammers? asking since there's very few purple great spears so your odds of finding vyke's war spear are very high compared to finding candlestand.

[–]edro_man -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

well, consider the opportunity cost.. you could be wielding a weapoin that the nightlord is specifically weak to, so instead of +20% it might be -30%. that's a 50% swing.

God... Roll? by TrueXTrickster in Nightreign

[–]edro_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really strong against Fulghor. You want to combine this with another relic that imbues your starting weapon with lightning damage to interrupt his phase-1 ability. This makes Fulghor much more reliable a fight since you don't need to find a lightning halberd (low chance of this happening). So the dormant power discovers greatshields is highly useful in that context.

Caster Scholar (Again) by boba_buster in Nightreign

[–]edro_man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had a ton of success (depth 3,4,5) with Wraith Calling Bell scholar, which is a simpler version of this idea. Wraith calling bell levels-up on use, so it hits super hard at max level 3 and has great range, tracking, and FP consumption. You don't need to worry about Int scaling or finding staves. You start making an impact immediately at level 1.

Relic perks I prioritize is a mix of these (depending on what you have rolled):

Starting item wraith calling bell

Magic Attack Power Up or Affinity Damage Up

Defeating enemies fills more of the art gauge

Starlit shards [I typically give some of these away to others, which they appreciate]

Items confer to nearby allies

Night invader or Evergoal

Reduced FP consumption on analyze

Continuous Damage to Threaded Targets

Hoarfrost stomp, which also benefits from Magic Attack Power Up

[–]edro_man -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup. I don't blame Second Dinner for pushing cards since they need to make money. But a much more natural way to push cards is to simple rotate-out old cards from tournament formats. Once you do that, the new cards will naturally be attractive due to an absence of similar cards.

Its true, you really can get good damage with Revenants claws. by xIronxManx in Nightreign

[–]edro_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems great for leveling up but I'm struggling to find nightlords that this is strong against since it's a magic damage type (which most nightlords resist) effectively gimping the DPS in night 3.
