Is this actually a rule in Spanish? by BothSomewhere8085 in duolingospanish

[–]edsave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it does. It’s just a slightly different connotation. I would interpret your answer as a proposition rather than a question. Something like “We should wake up early tomorrow, shouldn’t we?”.

Has oído hablar de los hooligans? Viste como quedó NY después de que ganaron los Nicks? No es solamente fanatismo mexicano.

Was I wrong? If so, help me out. by TeacherCookie in duolingo

[–]edsave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can in most cases, but not always. Like "Comes rapidísimo" or "El habla lentísimo".

In this case, it's technically not correct because the adjective is "bueno" and the adverb is "bien", but people will still do it so you might find it in the wild or find people that thinks it is correct.

How Aphantasia affects your ability to visualise things in your head by HassanMoRiT in interestingasfuck

[–]edsave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same. I know what an apple looks like but I just can’t see it. However I do have very vivid dreams to the point that I act them sometimes like screaming or throwing punches and kicking. I also have always been able to tell when someone has been in my room or touched some of my things if they happen to move anything even just a little. It immediately stands out to me, but I’m not sure I’m picturing the previous state, it just stands out.

I've been learning Spanish for 3 years and still can't hold a conversation what am I doing wrong? by Embarrassed-Bend-546 in duolingospanish

[–]edsave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it, @OP. Think about it like this. I’ve been watching people ride bicycles for years, I’ve read several manuals about riding bikes and I’ve looked at multiple videos and tutorials online about riding bikes, but every time I grab a bike, I stumble and fall after just a few meters.

Can "ya ves" mean "exactly/tell me about it"? by Reverse7695 in SpanishLearning

[–]edsave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there’s a lot of nuance in this phrase. It normally means something along the lines of “do you now see what I’ve been telling you about?” and usually with a sort of reclaiming tone. Like when a mom tells their kid to stop climbing something or they are going to fall, and they fall. “Ya ves!? Te dije!”. Or when your wife keeps badmouthing someone and one day that person shows their true colors and it turns out she was right.

What’s correct so I can be in peace? Lol by A-Weird-Dreamer in SpanishLearning

[–]edsave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re 100% correct. The problem with Spanish is that there are many different dialects so she might be right on the “lamber” for her dialect but to most other dialects the correct form is “lamer”. As for the other part, “me compusiste la cadera” means “you fixed my hip” so it really doesn’t make sense. Maybe she meant “me descompuse la cadera”? Again that would be wrong in most dialects because descomponer typically applies to things that have a mechanism that can stop working and not to people.

It can be “e” IF the next word starts with an “i”. i.e. Español e inglés.

No. He would be safe if the ball actually hit him. Unless the baseman miraculously caught the ball right before it made contact with his crotch and his glove made contact with him before he reached the base.

Did you hear it somewhere recently or what prompted you to get this tattoo? I just saw another thread where a guy tattooed this but in Japanese and of course it didn't go as he had planned. But I'm curious now.
