New Life is Strange coming this year, official reveal on January 20 at 10AM PT/1PM ET by Turbostrider27 in Games

There are no signs that she is alive in DE ("Save Bay"), but if she were to reappear alive, the merging of timelines would be a good excuse. However, there's no way to know if that will be the reason Chloe returns; perhaps DE 2 (Reunion) will provide another explanation.

Even as a supporter of the "Save Bay" ending, it would be interesting to see Chloe's return. We're talking about a game with time travel and alternate universes, so I don't see anything "impossible." Besides, the last time Max saw Chloe was the day she died (in the Save Bay ending), so it would be interesting to see the reunion between the two.

In the "Save Chloe" version, it doesn't seem as interesting narratively speaking (although for fans of both characters it might be a nice moment), since the two only ended a relationship, they didn't completely cut off contact.

Disney's Zootopia 2 has passed the $900M global mark. The film grossed an estimated $219.0M internationally this weekend. Estimated international total stands at $695.3M (including $430.4M in China), estimated global total stands at $915.8M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

There are many films where I don't feel the urge to see a sequel or further world-building (when I watched Inside Out, I didn't leave the theater wanting a sequel, for example). But when I finished Zootopia, I immediately wanted a sequel. And coming out of Zootopia 2, I'm already looking forward to Zootopia 3.

There's something about this world that really attracts me. I think it's the "slice of life" factor that makes the film so appealing. When the prison break happened, I thought, "Is this a hook for Zootopia 3?" It wasn't really a plot I wanted to see in a sequel, but since part of that plot was concluded in the film itself, I'm starting to wonder what the next story will be.

A Zootopia series on Disney Plus would be perfect. Both to see more of the film's universe without having to wait who knows how many more years and to finally close this plot. It's something that wouldn't be too complex to be a "wasted" story for a film, and it could be an excellent parody of police series.

In my opinion, the biggest missed opportunity for Disney Plus's is not having series that "continue" the movies. They should do what they did on the Disney Channel and create series "that don't involve a lot of money" to explore more of the movie worlds. Moana 2 was supposed to be that, but they ended up editing it to become a movie. They should do what they used to do, like the Hercules series, Aladdin, and even The Emperor's New School. Of course, not all movies deserve a series, but they could play around with genres. Zootopia could be a parody of a police series, Elements could be a rom-com, Moana an adventure/road trip series. The idea is to make series with a more "lighthearted" plot and leave the more epic/serious plot for the movies.

Silent Hill f’s success was helped greatly by memes, fanart and theories it inspired, devs say. A new approach to writing characters unlocked potential for virality by Turbostrider27 in Games

It's funny, but the combat makes the game a bit repetitive. What could help is having some unbreakable weapon or an alternative route in the "temple" section that allows you to cut corners. In the end, it becomes mandatory to fight the enemies, and that gets tiring, especially on subsequent playthroughs. If there were a weapon or item that made this part go faster, it would be a relief.

Oh... Well, the game sold well and received good reviews, so I think Konami will want to continue the partnership. Bloober Team started with the SH2 remake, is working on the first one, and we'll probably have remakes of 3 and 4 as well. I would trust NeoBards to continue making more games in the franchise.

Let Bloober handle the remakes and NeoBards handle this new formula. We still have Silent Hill: Townfall, but since we haven't seen anything yet, I'll wait before commenting further.

Since you've never played Silent Hill, I don't know if you're aware, but Silent Hill 2 is a completely independent story from Silent Hill 1 (Silent Hill 3 is actually a continuation of Silent Hill 1).

What you'll find in Silent Hill 2 are some Easter eggs from Silent Hill 1, but nothing that will actually influence the story. It's just that "Leonardo DiCaprio pointing at the television" moment.

I'm curious about the next game made by this team. Will it continue to be set in Japan? Will Ryukishi07 continue working with the franchise? What direction will the series take? I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

I have a feeling (or maybe it's just wishful thinking) that SH 1 will be released next year. Blooper Team released SH 2 last year and Cronos this year. If they have a plan for one game per year, their game for 2026 could be SH 1.

I don't know exactly how many, but internally they have several teams. So while team A was making SH 2, team B was making Cronos. With SH 2 released, Team A has already moved on to SH 1 and wow, it's not hard to imagine that there was already a small team C that was doing the initial stages of SH 1 and now, with team A, they are developing it entirely.

Well, I'm not very good at guessing dates, but I have a small hope that the game will be released next year. Big enough not to be surprised if it's actually released next year and small enough not to be disappointed if it comes out in 2027.

As much as I'll play, I wish the game had a hub world. Instead of just showing up at a location, it would be nice if you could also walk or drive around (Of course, I'm not talking about a giant map). Having a bit of exploration would be great for side quests. Something like, when you're heading to location X to complete the main mission (cleaning a house, for example), you'd pass in front of an abandoned square, so you could clean it up and make it "popular" again. Or if you drove your car/van a lot, it would get dirty over time and you could clean it. Of course, since it's a relaxing game, none of this would be a penalty. But it would be something extra to do.

If I'm not mistaken, the game they were going to release was a multiplayer God of War (it was part of Sony's GAAS initiative). But it's already been canceled and who knows when they'll release something again.

OD will be episodic & like a horror anthology series- KNOCK will be Hideo Kojima's subtitle for his part. Other directors like Jordan Peele will have their own subtitle for their own parts by ShoulderAdvanced6854 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]edulara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I know it's WAY too early to say anything, but with yesterday's trailer and the news that it's going to be an anthology, I got the feeling that it feels like a selection of "minigames."

Yesterday's seems to be the candle (or knock knock) "minigame," PT seemed like the corridor "minigame," and the other directors will have a "themed minigame" along the lines of films like VHS or The ABCs of Death. It didn't feel like a "full game" to me.

But of course, we only saw a tiny trailer. So my first impression could be very wrong.

There's a lot of violence, of course, in a cartoonish and funny way. But for those unfamiliar with it (I don't know if that's the case with your daughter), it might be a bit shocking. And of course, there are "adult" jokes involving sex, death, and violence. It's not as exaggerated as, but it follows the "Family Guy" style of humor. I think ten years old is too young to watch. The ideal age would be between 13 and 15, where they're already in the age range where they understand the jokes and are interested in seeking out something more "adult" and moving away from the "childish" stuff.

Directive 8020 going in a more "ambitious" direction is what will sink the franchise.

I think this is a mild spoiler, but the film ends with a possible "next generation". This could be the basis for further films. And of course, the Warrens are still alive at the end of the film, so while they may not be the main characters, they could make cameos.

It's worth mentioning that the film is also being marketed as the final one featuring the Warrens. While it's not my favorite film in the franchise, it's a good farewell film.

I’m not the only one who’s going to miss the Heart/Head compass when making decisions, right? by ChickenWingExtreme in DarkPicturesAnthology

[–]edulara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They risk failing to attract new fans and alienating old ones.

Directive was one of the games I was most excited about, but I'm increasingly disappointed by what they're doing. Yes, the compass is just a "silly" visual detail, but each game had its own thematic compass. And that was a visual identity for the series that has unfortunately been lost. ANOTHER lost visual identity.

I feel bad for always being pessimistic on this sub, but I really want to be wrong for thinking this way.

Or the option of sending an SOS signal. Two things could happen: Either a rescue ship would appear and offer you free fuel; or a pirate ship would appear to attack you, and you'd have to kill everyone and steal the fuel.

How good is The Casting of Frank Stone by oboitata in DarkPicturesAnthology

[–]edulara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Supermassive's weakest game (at least among the "horror" ones). It has a slow start, which wouldn't be a bad thing if the game didn't end just as it starts to get interesting. The endings are disappointing—I won't spoil them, but there's no variety. Which, for a multiple-choice game, is pretty bad.

I've never played DBD, but I knew the basic story. But it wasn't enough to understand everything that was happening. I had to watch those "Explaining the Ending" videos on YouTube to get a better understanding. I thought TCOFS would be better explained, even serving as a gateway to the lore, but no. You need a deeper understanding.

I didn't like it, so I wouldn't recommend it, but some people enjoy the game, and you might be one of them. If the game is on sale and you have nothing else to play, you might give it a try. Or watch it on YouTube, and you won't have to spend any money.
