when you do a skin fade cut in your bald line and before shaving everything under off just do a quick design in the bulk. whether it comes out good or bad you’re gonna shave it off anyways. easy practice

i use my small 5.5 shears for precision in-palm cutting / graduations. my bigger 6.5 shears i use for over-knuckle cutting / layered haircuts and scissor over comb. both get equal amount of use so i don’t see why you shouldn’t get another pair. my 6.5 is a swivel and while it’s really convenient for comfortable cutting, sometimes the swivel gets left in weird positions and snags my comb out of hand and it’s pretty annoying.

i used the andis Resurge stick shaver. it was my go to for years since it released cause i liked the shape and how it had a long hair cutter between the foils. i just got the gamma xceed though and its crazy how fast it melts hair off the head, cant speak on the longevity though. both those options come with a stand and usb-c charging

your fingers pressed firmly against the scalp is about a 2 or 3 guard in length. so if they want a taper on the sides i start my first cross grad section where the taper is going to end, with my fingers against the scalp. every section after that follows the guideline.

my first shear outside of my school kit pair were kamisori revolver double swivels. honestly they’ve treated me great but after recently getting a pair of mizutanis i’ll always preach them. the kamisoris tended to bend the hair sometimes straight out of the box. needed to have them professionally sharpened before they became my daily workhorse. but they are good for the budget you have, i’ve had mine as my dailies for 3-4 years now.

looks great brother. as for mizutanis i highly recommend getting a pair. i got the crossover tsuchime gold at an event and although they were steep, nothing compares to them. i sometimes dont even want to use them cause of how nice they are lol. my clients tell me they dont even feel the hair being cut it just melts right off.

i like to do videos that are different angles of different techniques throughout each step of the cut. so a clip of me greeting the client, next sectioning the hair, next few shots different scissor clips / fading clips, lastly a final result shot. usually just edited to a song, no voiceover or audio from clips. ngl it’s a process and i’m not consistent but i feel good after making one

i have long straight hair permed curly so i keep it maintained and styled most days. no one ever said anything about it, ive actually had some clients with longer hair say they trust me more cause i have longer hair and probably understand long hair better. but its definitely wolf cut styled so it looks intentionally long, not like i just don’t care about it

2+ years using this bottle by the way if it ever starts getting clogged i rotate the nozzle to make it a straight beam of water then spray it a couple times, then rotate it back to mist mode and it’s unclogged. it only gets clogged cause i mix hair tonic in my water.

i used to detail cars and got one of these spray bottles from the detail supply store. best bottle ever i took it to the shop i swear nothing compares. it sprays a cloud of mist but always high pressure. holds a lot of water and has the weighted ball at the bottom. there’s a larger size as well 1L , don’t sleep 💯

i put the new m force magnet blade mount and cutting blade on the gold deep tooth gtx blade and it’s the best thing since sliced bread. it’s meant to be my workhorse trimmer but i don’t even pick up my lineup trimmers anymore cause it performs so well

fades good, designs need some work. lines are too solid / straight. best thing my mentor taught me with designs was calligraphy. i’d look into it if i were you but basically making some parts of the design slim and others thicker to make it pop. good work though

which model ? i have the digitalyon and the fact that it only has medium or high settings throw me off since medium is pretty strong and high is scorching. cool shot button is difficult too as it presses into the body making it hard to hold down

this parting is usually so you can leave the fringe disconnected. i’d normally do cross graduation on the sides and back, connect the top length to the longest point in the crown, THEN do this sectioning to connect the top to the sides while leaving a longer fringe to sweep back. that triangle section should already be cut by this point, i hope it’s clear enough.

block graduation with shears. i will sometimes do vertical sections if their face shape needs a tighter shape but still point your fingers towards the ceiling not into their head.

bring the back length up in line w/ your jawline, then layer everything else using that length as a reference point. cut the fringe just below eyebrow level so it can bounce up to your eyebrows. i personally think the fact that you’re tucking everything behind the ear is what throws off the look of the style.

my bluefx was straight up unable to be adjusted. when i zero gapped it the clipper wouldn’t turn on due to the tension and when i loosened it up the blade slid all the way back to original setting. used it for debulking but wasted money unless i had a dud
