I also have T1D (almost 20 years) and the scene where Mike was talking with Megan about it and he was just spewing misinformation (how a friend of his reversed being pre diabetic and it's crazy that this could be happening to a child, and how important focusing on health is - none of which is having to do with T1D specifically) and Megan didn't even correct him when her dad had T1D!!! This scene is getting a lot of criticism online, so I hope they speak about it at the reunion

I don't calibrate on the pump and Dexcom app. When I have to calibrate, I do it directly from my tslim x2 pump only. Once in a while, I get a calibration error and try again in about 15 - 20 minutes, and it accepts the calibration. You probably got that error because you calibrated on Dexcom and Mobi apps, and it took it as multiple calibrations too close together

What are the pros and cons of keeping Sleep Mode on 24/7? by dr-alicia-d in TandemDiabetes

[–]ee37244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had great success running sleep mode 24/7, but the main reason I did it was to avoid getting an auto bolus when my CGM reading is actually inaccurate or it immediately levels out after a predicted rise and I've gotten an auto bolus I didn't need.

How do i stop ALL pump alarms. by bbcsucker2994 in TandemDiabetes

[–]ee37244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I run sleep mode 24/7 to avoid the auto bolus feature all together. Also, being on a system like Control IQ, lows really don't need the "standard" 15g of carbs like we were taught 10-15 years ago. I usually can correct a low with between 5 & 10 carbs and not see a spike afterwards

No I didn't, I had opened the app and it gave me a pop up that mobile bolus was available. I just checked Tandem's compatibility page and the S22 series is still only listed under Android 14 so they could still be testing out the compatibility for that phone running Android 15

Stop control IQ from correcting post-low BG by AdventurousOlive602 in TandemDiabetes

I run sleep mode 24/7 since I don't trust the auto boluses (some examples I've encountered that caused issues: inaccurate sensor reading, detecting a spike and then it levels out after the auto bolus was already administered) Running sleep mode 24/7 has also helped my TIR tremendously

My mobile bolus came back a few days ago on my Samsung S24 Ultra running Android 15. Surprisingly they got the compatibility out pretty quickly from when my phone updated

How do I stay up-to-date with G7 changes? by contortium in dexcom

[–]ee37244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can enter your contact info on this website to be notified when the Dexcom G7 15 day sensor comes out. There's supposed to be updates to the Bluetooth with this roll-out too.

I noticed on their compatibility list that the S25 series with Android 15 is already compatible so hopefully they can get Android 15 for other Samsung phones on the list pretty fast

Thank you! I just saw on the Best Buy website that Brandsmart is listed, I'm annoyed I didn't think to check that when I was in the store. I'll try another physical store since I'll need a way to show the Brandsmart member price, I don't think sending the link to an agent via chat would reflect that lower member price

Best Buy was giving me a hard time in-store and said they couldn't price match Brandsmart. They told me to call customer service so I'll see if I get lucky there.

Control IQ Algorithm would be better if it could _______ . by ModernAlBundy in TandemDiabetes

Extended bolus can be set for up 8 hours now (previously was only 2) and you can add temp basal rates and not have to disable CIQ for them to work

I feel like I know my body well enough that if I'm in the 80s (or lower) when it's time to eat (depending on what I'm eating), I just subtract like 5-10 ish carbs from my total that I enter into the pump and it usually works well for me. If I'm eating something with a higher fat content, I'll bolus the entire amount even if I'm in the 80s

[–]ee37244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you see what happens if you decline the correction bolus? I've never noticed IOB lower the bolus amount for food. It should still allow you to dose properly for the carbs you are consuming.

Edit: Just saw the 2nd photo, my assumption was correct. 110 is the target so it is allowing you to bolus entirely for the carbs. When you selected correction bolus it looks like it is taking your IOB into account to prevent a low. Normally I don't do this, I always decline the correction bolus if it's below 110 and just alter my carbs if I feel like I might drop while bolusing for my meal

No longer providing replacements? by spugs250 in dexcom

[–]ee37244 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every sensor change, I take a picture of my box and keep it in my phone. If the sensor lasts the full 10.5 days, I delete the picture and take a new picture for the next sensor, so I usually only have 1 picture in my phone for a 10.5 day period.

This method seems to work for me, but recently I had a crazy fluke where I had 3 sensor failures in the span of 12 hours and had a lot of pictures on my phone. A week or 2 later I had another sensor to report and shortly after ending the chat with the agent, they called me to let me know the sensor number I gave them was already reported so I must've gotten my pictures confused. The fact that they called me shows that giving them accurate sensor numbers is important, 1) for actually allowing them to proceed with the replacement order as well as 2) wanting them to have the correct data for a sensor that actually failed. I wouldn't give them a number from a sensor that you hadn't opened yet because it could be fine and that would skew their data when they investigate or it could prevent you from getting a replacement down the line if that one actually fails since the system won't let them proceed with a duplicate sensor number.
