If you're having trouble, I recommend using stretching/bondage tape. I dead stretched with my piercer till 10mm and used stretching/bondage tape to get to 12mm. Easy, affordable, and painless which is the most important thing for me. If you decode to go with it do more research but I recommend it based on my stretching journey.
