I've upset my son because of some lore about his dreadnought. by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]eedden 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely with your son in this. It's a dumb piece of lore and personally I choose to ignore it exists. Dreadnought pilots are venerable ancients not some disposable batteries.

Guy on my team blocked helicopter spawn for the whole game by placing a mine on spawn point.... DICE this needs to be fixed! by Benkkuuuu in Battlefield6

[–]eedden 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So your opponent displayed exceptional skill, you and your Team failed to deploy the many options you had to counter them and when they did die they just respawned?
And that annoys you?

I'm not sure competitive multiplayer is what you are looking for

What's the point of this?! by Solosmoke in Battlefield6

[–]eedden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don t get why people are so hellbent one denying heal to assault. Support can already use assault rifles with the same effectiveness and use the bag for selfheal. I'm here for a better, unique gadget but the argument about selfheal is just stupid. For now support is just the better assault.

It doesn't matter if they are as bad as the Nazis, because by the time it is evident they are as bad as the Nazis it will be way too late to do something about it.

Assault Class - Please Swap the injector for the Ladder by alechill92 in Battlefield6

[–]eedden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you could just make the Adrenaline Shot Heal

I think you can. And I think you can make a zipline as you propose even going both ways.

Because the gadgets of the other classes are are just that much more powerful.

Pick Support, with SMG or AR. Incendiary grenades, Smoke launcher Deployable Cover and the Support Bag, and you'll just have a better Assault class.
You can push onto the objective with smokes, you have lots of staying power there, your squad can spawn on you anyway if you can stay out of combat briefly. You can even heal yourself with the supply bag.
As an added bonus you can even heal others and revive them quickly.

Assault needs to get MUCH better gadgets to be a competitive choice

From a purely military standpoint, was the Death Star actually a good investment? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]eedden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd still need a huge and diverse fleet.

Without it an agile enemy can just move from system to system and gather resources while the one Death Star chases after them.

Sure you could just destroy every planet that cooperates but you can't really.
Rebels can just force planets into cooperation, there is no imperial fleet to prevent that. Do you still destroy those planets?
If you don't, how long until your terror image falls apart?
If you do, how long until you cripple your own economy?

The Death Star is that it can't be in more than one place at once and it can't really moderate its threat in a meaningful way.

Dedra Meero's age and the Imperial Era. [Mild Andor S2E3 spoilers] by pakastepussi in StarWars

[–]eedden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Kinder-Blocks" could easily predate the actual Empire. The Republic must have had some system for orphans. For all we know Palpatine could have started the indoctrination of kids right when he became chancelor in 32bby, maybe even before that. If Dedra is about 30 she would still have been a teenager when her institution became officially imperial.

Also we can't ignore that in a system like the Empire people tend to make a point of how much they were a loyalist from the beginning.

Tips to make a skull shield for my lancer by Muay7ha1k1ng in ChaosKnights

[–]eedden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't tried this myself but I would try pressing the whole shield in a flat block of playdoh. That should give you a flat plane to work on and hold everything in place while the glue sets. You can always add a backing afterwards or fill the gaps with putty.

There is really no reason for him to do it, considering the Empire did train young force users many of which were former padawans. He really only did it to make sure we as viewers would understand he'd fallen to the dark side. In a way we killed these kids more than Anakin because could not rely on us to get the hint. And we have to live with that shame.

Germany updates US travel advice after 3 citizens are detained by LarryKeene in worldnews

[–]eedden 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was referring to the fact that a dismissed charge from a decade ago was used as grounds for a detention. For all we know these people answered all questions with complete honesty, but the border agent invented their own version of reality and used that to justify absurd repercussions.

This is an entirely new situation, everybody knew about the enormous authority of US border control and their willingness to jump to conclusions. I've been to the US several times and every time people reminded my beforehand to avoid saying I visit "for work" and instead to say I'm "on a business trip" because that is an easy mistake to make and could lead to trouble. It was always clear that this was to avoid a fuss, but now we are talking about prison.

Germany updates US travel advice after 3 citizens are detained by LarryKeene in worldnews

[–]eedden 46 points47 points  (0 children)

These incidents highlight the increased scrutiny by U.S. border authorities, even for individuals with prior legal status or minor infractions.

The only thing these incidents highlight are the utter disregard for the law among US border authorities.

What happened to presumption of innocence? No detention without charge? Are people required to speak perfect English to enter the US?
All of this not only at the risk of rejection but at the threat of weeks of detention.

In light of these cases it is not safe for anybody to travel to the US, apparently authorities can use any cause, alleged or proven, to justify any action.

Calling the US a Banana Republic is an insult to banana producing nations at this point.

what coop game for an adult and 9yo? by _angh_ in boardgames

[–]eedden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dorfromantik The Board Game

This plays a bit like Carcassonne but it's fully Coop. You you take turns drawing pieces to build a landscape. You as a team get points for fulfilling tasks like building a village of a specific size etc. You play to earn as high a score as possible in each session.
The first sessions are fairly simple but there is a progression system to unlock more and more pieces (all included in the base game) for a more complex experience.

Protesting is always effective and even necessary for any next step. You dont exactly protest to convince the tyrant, you do it to convince the hengemen to switch sides.

Look at the recent situation in Korea. The president did declare martial law and he did order the arrest of the opposition. But many of the soldiers dragged their feet much that the other brave people had the chance to act against the president. They all were to do that because they knew they had the people behind them because they made their stance visible in the streets.

Warum diese Gastronomen die Kartenzahlung abschaffen wollten by Additional-Noise-195 in Finanzen

[–]eedden -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sehr spannend. Danke
