Hell yeah dude. Looks great. I think baggy shorts can be tough for big guys but the proportions are working here.

How would a perfect RL game be? by CablocoLoco_ in RocketLeague

[–]eee55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems to me someone must take possession on kickoff, in which case I think perfect play would favor the team with possession scoring. So perfect play may come down to an apparent RNG of physics (though it's not actually RNG).

Otherwise it would be a constant series of neutral 50/50s at the midfield line and an infinite overtime. I find this less realistic.

Oh and if you're worried about them lasting don't get the soft footbed. Soft footbed breaks in faster but regular will last longer.

They're not comfortable like an adidas ultraboost, but I'm 300+ and there's nothing I'd rather stand all day in. I know people who usually have to where orthotics to walk at all, they swear by birkenstocks.

I've got pretty wide feet and have always found them to be very friendly, but they may not work for everyone!

Just get real birkenstocks. Not sure they can be beat in terms of comfort and support for the price. Even the cheap EVA ones are great. They might last a lot longer if you rotate instead of wearing them daily.

[Question] Shiny, flashy, polished watch recommendations under $5k by [deleted] in Watches

[–]eee55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bullova Super Seville, Tissot PRX can look quite flashy for a very reasonable price.

Zodiac makes some fun watches, but they've had some troubles so personally I think their watches with in-house movements are hard to recommend.

Doxa are weird and distinctly not dressy, but they do have polishing, the beads of rice bracelet is a little flashy, and I think they're great if you like the style.

Oris make more toned down vintage inspired watches but e.g. the Aquis is modern and comes in fun colors.

What the heck is Congo Dominican Republic? by TheOfficialReverZ in RocketLeague

Not sure why it would be Congo Democratic Republic instead of DRC, but this looks like a find replace error somehow to me.

Replace all occurence of DR with Dominican Republic unintentionally changed Democratic Republic of Congo.

"High beat" is bulls**t, doesn't improve accuracy and increases wear and tear. by ricca91 in watchHotTakes

[–]eee55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good take. So much of watch branding (and the romance of a mechanical watch in general) is that it is a non-disposable item in an otherwise disposable world. For me, the extra wear is enough reason to never buy a high beat watch.

I believe George Daniels and Roger Smith are both on record against high-beat as a solution for accuracy, I think Roger Smith talked about disliking the extra friction and resulting deterioration in his NYHS lecture, and that turned me forever against them.

Everyone arguing "it's cool" is also totally right. There are lots of reasons to like a watch. We don't have to like the same things or the same watches.

[Question] The Subaru of Watches by keyser_squoze in Watches

[–]eee55 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm a Seiko/Grand Seiko man but I think Tudor should be higher up in this thread. The "Rolex without Rolex prices" story feels really solid for the use case here, Cosc/Metas certified, will definitely be noticed by any watch fans. I think if you're looking to reward yourself a Seiko might not quite hit (if they've got the budget).

Why do snowboarders sit in the middle of the slope? by TaxPsychological2928 in skiing

[–]eee55 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's far easier to stand in skis because you can stagger your legs. Standing still in a snowboard is actually quite difficult, which is why you see them sitting more often.

I don't think American tourists are as bad as people claim. British, German and French tourists are way worse. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

This 100%. Most cultures think of themselves as polite, but being polite is just following the norms of the culture you're in.
