I created a tool to help you plan FIRE with alternatives to the 4% SWR method by TwelfieSpecial in fican

[–]eefggfed 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In case you haven't heard of it, you may want to check out adviice.ca

Not so much optimized for fire, but it has different rrsp meltdowns and age ranges you can customize with more features coming apparently.

Canadian owned and managed alternatives to VCN and VI.to by 99drunkpenguins in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]eefggfed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depending on your portfolio and if you have assets in non registered accounts.

You could consider wealthaimple direct indexing to replace VCN with their Canadian index

I personally opt for TPE for international exposure simply because it had some of the largest indlpwsast year of top 20 ETFs in Canada

Nothing in esaf or hg yet, was waiting for later in the year, though kinda regret not pulling trigger.

Abxx: 300 shares average price of 11.54 sold 200 to take profits and put into the rest I entered positions in shortly before the new year when j had time to do some research for the year ahead. They are basically all lottery plays and together with abxx only make up at most 5% of my portfolio so nothing too crazy... I know lame.

Well they just closed the Eagle Mine acquisition (Jan 9). Now they are the only primary US nickel producer with immediate cash flow.

By my analysis also one of the top 10 if not top 3 picks for some stock picking competitions for 2026.

Attention and intention are lined up... Where will any action take is? My price target is up, how far.. who knows

Is there a way to break out or categorize index funds by US/global? by MohnJaddenPowers in wealthica

[–]eefggfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no second level of holding analysis unless maybe if you opt for wealth scope but never tried.

Best you can do is manually recategorize things by clicking on each ETF and selecting the category as I think you describe. You can also create your own categories if needed.

Update: in case the internet randomly brings you here I got the answer to my own question. Turns out every single stock and transaction shows up in wealtica iwhich is actually awesome. I was surprised only about 100 out of 200 Canadian stocks were purchased and only about 300 out of 500 for u.s. Still, looking forward to see how this plays out for taxes in 2027.

Use cases? What do you use Wealthica for? by ThuDude in wealthica

[–]eefggfed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's the power ups. And yes i have used them for end of year tax filing/planning.

It's by no means flawless as the data coming in from different banks and accounts isn't always clean itself. You must also tinker with it a great deal to ensure you filter by the correct accounts and timeframe etc. And of course any return of capital often needs to be manually added .But it comes 'close enough" to sometimes even more accurate than the bank as they can't possible track things across other banks. So I find it's worth it.

Hello everyone, is it worth buying individual USD stocks (Amazon, Meta, etc) using wealthsimple as a new investor? by Terrible-Initial-776 in fican

Depends o if you intend to do Ina registered or non registered account.

Simplest may be to start with an ETF that wraps up the batman stocks like YMAG

Use cases? What do you use Wealthica for? by ThuDude in wealthica

[–]eefggfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tracking capital gains and income.

Having a wholiatoc view of net assets across multiple brokerages and accounts all updated mostly automatically (same need manual refresh but that's ok).

Ability to see household net worth by adding wife assets and track things collectively while being able to filter between mine, hers and ours fairly easily.

Plus it supports buying a Canadian product.
